AM3 Barebones headsup
Well, I bought some parts about a month ago to use as a workstation at work to hold me over until what I really wanted came out. The last part I was waiting on finally hit the US market, so I won't be needing these parts, and they're just outside their return policy.
The bundle consists of a case, motherboard, cpu cooler, and ram. (no processor included.) MSI 890GXM-G65 2x2GB OCZ DDR3 1600 AMD Black Edition CoolerMaster Hyper 212 Plus CPU cooler NZXT Vulcan mATX gaming case With shipping, the parts come to about $360 on Newegg (as you can see). I'm asking $200 for the bundle. The parts have only been used about a month, and I still have all the original packaging and accessories. Some things worth pointing out, the motherboard supports DDR3, so it only works with AM3 cpu's, so older am2/am2+ cpu's will not work. However, this is one of the few mATX boards that support crossfire, and because it's AMD's latest generation chipset, it has support for SATA3 6Gbps and USB3. The onboard graphics are powerful enough to make a decent workstation and play older games, however, it's expansion capabilities allow it to be a gaming/graphics powerhouse. The only reason I'm replacing is because I'm going with a smaller mITX configuration instead, and actually slightly downgrading in the process. Finally, the parts won't actually be available until their replacements come in, likely in the middle of August, so no hurry if you're interested, but definitely let me know. |

I'm definitely interested but won't have any cash for a new system until Sept. 20th (school money) if you still have them then... ( I know unlikely, but still...)

I'll let you know, but I'm hoping to have it gone before then. Since it's money that's going back into the machine. The parts I'm replacing this with are gonna cost me close to 600 bucks

Yeah I get it, I was planning on turning my current machine into a media server and building a new "budget" gaming rig when school starts. Sounds like those parts would do nicely. No biggie though. If I get this paid internship I may be able to come up with the cash sooner... |

lol, if zotac made a mini-itx am3 board with pci-e x16 slot, I might consider it. Get on it, slacker

I'm making a AMD (RED) themed box, so no
Additionally, considering how little heat the AMD's put out, they're ideal for the confines of a mini-itx platform. And a little cheaper, too.Last edited by CrazyRob : 07-29-2010 at 07:20 PM. |
