I'm usuing Opera 7.50 (find that), though I've tried just about everything. My list of browsers goes...
1.) Opera 7.50 - fast, good looking, intuitive, feature rich, compatible
2.) Internet Explorer - for the few sites that don't work properly with Opera like apples (cause quicktime plugin), and packetnews. Its decent speed wise, and with the Google Toolbar can be a decent browser.
3.) MyIE2 - decent browser, based off IE. Pretty quick, great plugins, my two issues with it are its ugly and its not intuitive like Opera.
4.) Internet Explorer 6.5 Beta - If you've seen pics of Longhorn its that one. Its THE FASTEST browser I've ever seen. Its very buggy though.
5.) Firebird - If you want a browser that has a few interesting features and works for most sites and is free this is the browser for you though the top 3 would be better ideas.
Thats about it all other browsers just really blow.

I use Internet Explorer with Avant Browser. It blocks popups, and provides tabbed windows, so if I shut down the computer and reboot all the webpages that were open are reloaded. Obviously it also makes it easier to pick out certain windows.

well, right now im using AOL 8.0 (i know, i know, i dont want to hear it from either of you *glares at DiscoDave and Ender*)
but if you have links to any of these browsers, i would appreciate it!
Oh, and an IT student friend of min is creating a new browser based off of mozilla (same thing AOL uses) but its gonna be way cool.

is opera really that good?
i use firebird or mozilla, mainly because they're free and GLP'd. The reason I don't use opera (even though I love what they're doing with it in cell phones, pda, etc.) is because you have to pay for it (or spyware) or be a lamer and steal it.
The same holds true for Internet Explorer, but we all pay in a different way (who knows what bill gates is planning to do, maybe take over the world ;-), like poor AOL and other Microsoft competitors.
also mozilla and firebird are just as good as IE, with more features and control, like text-only mode on firebird for us old skoolers who like the text-only way of browsing (yay for Lynx).<G> Also the tabd browsing makes me nevar wanting to go back to IE (although you find this in everyother WWW browser). And for those people who don't use a pop-up blocker, go download firebird and turn off the pop-ups, it changes the way you surf.

Yeah Opera is $20 for students so its not a bad deal, and once you use it you won't go back. Like I said I've used them all, and while firebird isn't bad and with a ton of plugins can be opera like, opera has an off the shelf experience like no other! I can't express enough how intuitive it is with mouse gestures and menus. Everything is right where you think it would be. And hey if you run across something thats not exactly the way you want it you simply can delete that button or drag it to where you would like it to be. Plus the hotbutton which pops up a small bar that gives you access to information on your page or notes which you can write or your current transfers or history. Its just programmed really nicely.

I use Internet explorer. Its free and so far does everything I want it to. I tried Mozilla, but it wouldn't work the way I wanted it to.

I use one I'm sure you've never heard of, it's called OmniWeb.
It has tons of features that I use. Here's a few:
- Block banner ads, pop-up ads, pop-under ads, and even stop image animations.
- Search your entire Internet History using any word you can remember from the page.
- Website Shortcuts- Configure your own interactive shortcuts to search or visit your favorite sites using just a few simple keystrokes.
- HTML Source Editor- With our in-place source editor, you can edit as well as display source, and preview changes immediately – no uploading to server or downloading images.
- Zoomed Text Fields- All too often web page forms have teeny, tiny little areas for typing in text. With OmniWeb, just one click opens a separate window that's resizeable so you can actually see the text that you're entering.
it also has browser spoofing and cookie management so, when I'm dev'ing, I can test sniffers for multiple browsers/platforms and easily wipe cookies for each.
does lots of other things IE, Opera and Mozilla don't.

IE6. I have a hard time letting go. :(
But, I do use Thunderbird for email and it's awesome. :D
Firebird. It renders html properly, and is extensible, so third party developers can create plugins for it very easily. I have a very nice web developers toolbar that has some nice features, ie, it'll outline tables, block level elements, and you can show form objects with a click. Tabbed browsing pwns. As does not being redirected to this stupid ass page because of a typo.

lol no kidding. I hate that rederect.
I dunno firebird just never really made me happy after Opera. There are a number of excesories for it like spellcheckers (which I don't use cause I'm alzy), easy news searches, thesorus, notes, zoom and all sorts of fun things. The more I mess with it the more I find.
