Fast weapon changing! Omg it makes such a huge difference that it makes me want to cry! Tell me there is some sort of mutator/mod out there to change use UT2k3 weapon change speed in UT4... :<

There's a UT2k3 mod in UT2k4, that describes itself as reverting to fast weapon change.

Personally, I like the slower weapon change...just because I was never able to swap weapons uber-fast anyway, so I don't notice a difference except I'm not nailed with rocket/shock/lightning combos anymore. ;)

I prefer the fast weaps change in 2k3 as well...but it was too easily exploited (.ini modifcation/alias commands) which made it pretty lame. Therefore 2k4 is better to play for that reason. Plus I <3 the fast shock balls even though the slow ones were really cool too. :)

Man, I dunno... I liked the fast weapon switching til I ran across somebody who had a piped weaponswitch bind to cycle through shock rifle and lightning gun so fast you get killed in what feels like one shot.

They slowed down the weapon switching because a lot of people asked for it. UT2k3 was a little too crazy and spammy; 2k4 is more tactical. Anyways, if you think that's slow you should see UT1's weapon switch times. :D They're quite a bit slower yet. All slow weapon switching means is that you have to actually think about what gun you're using in certain situations before they occur, rather than just running around aimlessly and letting the fast switch bail you out if someone is smart and surprises you.

It IS nice to see that a fair number of people here like the fast paced games though. It seems like all anyone plays these days are the slow 'realism' sims.

I remember one specific match down at Ad Rush (in Oak Harbor) where a friend and I were hiding in a bush listening for people, and we saw 6 people coming towards us, so at the count of three, we got up screamed random things, and shot them all. Pity 2 of them were on our team, sneaking up behind the other four. But hey, we got them all :)

Aiming a gun in real life and using a mouse to do it are two TOTALLY different things though. You want a simple test of reflexes, play air hockey.
