PC Tournaments

COD4 and TF2 seem like shoe-ins. After that, I'm tapped.

CS:S, DOTA, CoH, Starcraft?

If there are any tournaments you'd like to see at Game Fest, you're better off voicing your opinion to sway me.

One time I was playing apples to apples and I picked bathroom over crying for "emotional". It's because the player convinced me that Bathrooms are where all of the Myspace kids take their profile pictures and slit their wrists.

If you haven't played apples to apples, i pitty the fool.

My point is, even if something is completely obvious (crying) I can be convinced otherwise (bathroom).

Post here your suggestions, we'll mull it over and make a decision on what tournaments will be offered.

I think you definitely need to have an RTS tournament of some kind. Top contenders would be Starcraft, WCIII, or something from the Command and Conquer series.

I would want to organize an unofficial UT3 1v1 tournament. Though if people preferred it, I guess I could stifle my gag reflex and run a 2k4 1v1 tournament.

So for the love of god get Starcraft or Warcraft 3 or even some lame modern RTS in there.

You cannot call this a epic Lan without running Enemy Territories. Most don't bother to understand the 6 core maps. If you do and spend some time with it you will understand the importance of what in my option is one of if not the greatest squad based team building game ever made. You want intense gaming then look know further. As this being a Free game make sure you run a different version of the game I suggest J-Mod or ET Pro with a 12(15-25 for larger groups) sec re spawn counter. Some of the custom games can be a blast with 64 vs 64. if you want chaos and teamwork this is the game. Make sure though that people know the Maps!!!! its super important because this game's ability to invoke entertainment is directly related to "if team members know what to do and where to go". Camping and unfairness could arise if peeps don't know the maps. I suggest Fuel dump, Temple Final, as shoe ins for 10-25 man groups. Really if you start to learn this game it will consume you. Like Unreal, CS, TF, quake, COD4, this game gives you that same energy only when you work together. Perfect balance of squad based micro mission's to help the team work towards check points to complete a goal. Please think of the rabbits and include this game.

Team Fortress 2 would be a great choice. Like, I would go just for that. If it is chosen, I can guarantee you'll see the Northwest Atrocity there. CS:S is great as well, but I'm all for an RTS along the lines of Starcraft, Warcraft 3 or Age of Empires 2.

I'd say a TF2 tourny will happen - we'll plan for it, as long as enough people sign up and are interested (who wouldn't be interested???) Probably with CAL rules, 6v6 or 8v8

There will be a Halo 3 tourney. Tell everyone you know! And while you're at it, there will also be a Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix tournament, and a Super Smash Brothers Brawl tournament. :)

btw, the registrations for PC and Console are separate, but i jus tnoticed that registration for one is 20-25 and the other is 10-15. If we participate in both, do we have to pay for both?

If you are paying for BYOC then you get into consoles for free.

Im sure if a tourny is held for WC3, that people will be playing during freeplay.
