I can't stand the accuracy system in that game. Way too sensitive.

I hit perfect fairly often now on accuracy.

I cry SO hard. Dave and I have been playing that game for so long and get REALLY close, but never a hole in one. Shadow plays for 2 days and nails it.

Awesome job, Shadow!
I look forward to failing miserably at this game (just installed it).

It's fun, it's just hard unless you have great reflexes. I, personally, don't. I've said it before, but I do well in games because I play smart. When I don't think about things, or when the game is about reflexes and physical skills, I lose. :(
(Seriously, I rarely even get in the 90-100 accuracy range in Madden.)

Well, it took me only a couple hours to start doing decent and on my second day I started doing pretty good. So you should be alright.

That's Dave.....
What version did you play? That was 06 I believe.

So far I'm not doing so well. Like QS, I'm more of a thinker than a speed/reflex player. I especially have trouble with timing things properly, so this game is tricky for me. I've been quite consistently off into the orange (or red) to the left, every shot I've made so far. Oh well.

Yeah, I was the same. I played about four hours and didn't get the hang of it.
I can't wait for LotR:O. That's the next game I plan on loving to death. I'm getting bored with CS -- I took a break and now I suck again. I can never find a DoD server I enjoy enough (I found one and it went down about a week later). Just having trouble finding a fun game to play away from LANs. :(

It's not reflexes, it's timing.

No idea what version it started with (that's when FeaR and I played a bunch)...but they've changed the interface a lot.

That happened just recently.

It's both, Dave, because different clubs have different mechanics, different lies have different speeds, etc. It's not just timing, because it's not an exactly similar swing bar speed every time.

Reflexes are a sudden response to stimuli, for instance, "when it hits zero, click the mouse". If that's the way you're playing, no wonder you can't get the hang of it.
Timing is entirely different. You don't click the mouse as soon as you see the club hit zero, you click the mouse when you predict the club hits zero. By definition, you can't predict anything relying on reflexes, but that's not the case here. \
You're right, the club moves different speeds based on different circumstances, but it's always a constant speed for each condition, therefore it can be predicted.
There's also a fair amount of thought that goes into the game. Not so much when things go right...you can pretty much rely on tab when everything is going your way...but when clouds, wind, uneven slope, and sand all get involved, you've really got to think about what you're doing.

Meh.
I'll stick to real golf.
