View Full Version : BLE October Recap

BLE October is now nothing but a fading memory in the river of time, and other rambling pseudo-philosophical garbage. It was, by all accounts, a successful Stress Test. The new network switches worked perfectly, the Internet access provided by Clearwire worked flawlessly, and while some people did experience a power outage in the middle of the lan which I apologize for, we definitely have enough power to support a full lan...it's just a matter of getting it straight with the hotel regarding which outlets match up to which circuits.
Of course, CS:S and BF2 were played extensively, although they didn't dominate this lan as much as they have previous lans.
DoD:S was a big hit, as was Serious Sam 2 (despite what Fear might have you believe, he was having a blast with it). Flatout and Worms both made fun filled appearances, along with some hot and steamy Quake4 action, and a thoroughly enjoyable late night session of HL2:Deathmatch.
I also saw Far Cry, Guild Wars, World of Warcraft, Command and Conquer: Generals, and Dungeon Siege 2.
But the biggest hit of the event was the pudding. Oh yes, the pudding. We didn't have spoons, but at least we had pudding. ;)
Thanks for coming everyone, and I hope you had a good time! :rup:
Signups for BLE November will be up before the day's end. Sadly, not all LANs can be free, so the next lan will be back to $10 prepay, $15 at the door. It'll be at the same place (Best Western Heritage Inn), same time (11:00am) and on November 19th.

Really enjoyed the lan :)
the tourney was pretty hilarious, to bad some people weren't good enough to make it to the halo masters portion, but I'm sure if they practice they can be as good as Quitestorm and I :)
CS, BF2, and Serious Sam 2 were all a blast, and I noticed some Raven Shield action going on which I'm down for if enough people want to play. I'll also get flatout working for the next lan. I miss raping jinx :D

Overall, I enjoyed myself. Granted troubleshooting and formatting took up a good chunk of the early hours of the LAN, I got my shit fixed, and had a blast! Next time we will have to plan badass dinner better via group size changing. Look forward to the next one
Oh yea, and many more hours of seeing Nate wank it in the corner. :hump:

HL2 DM was awesome too bad almost everyone was gone by then, and we have to set up DoD:S for some more loving next time.
Ravenshield needs some <3 too I'm counting on you guys to show me another good time next LAN
Warder glad you got your rig fixed, but maybe next time you should reformat BEFORE the LAN ;) (That was great timing on that power outage BTW)

Not high class, but little better than casual wear. It also would have helped if there wasn't a ton of ppl dressed up for homecoming. lol

people that goto Oliver Garden for homecoming are losers. Seriously, either goto a place that is down-to-earth (hello Boomers) or go some place real classy (hello Dianas). Don't half-ass it with some Chilli's clone (hello Mr. & Miss unoriginal).
I'm more embaresed for them than I am for you, by far.

If you set up a net work game of SS2 you can start back up where you left off. I probley will do that this weekend. Try to finish it. But just what is the objective of the game? Dident you have to get some stones or something like that?
DiscoDave
11-01-2005, 10:05 AM
Yea, you should be able to continue wherever you left off. In theory.
UB_Bomber
11-01-2005, 10:07 AM
It worked that way in all the old ones. Its just level select. Hey infinity we should get togeather and try to finish it some time. Seeing as how we where the onley 2 playing it.
