Lets tentitively plan for Saturday, June 12th for our Paintball adventure.
I don't know anything about paintball. What's the best field up there? How much is it going to cost everyone, assuming we need equipment rental? Is Saturday a bad (read: fields are busy with pros) time for a bunch of n00bs to play?

BTW, to the Go-Karters....are your arms completely wasted this morning? Yeesh...mine are toasted! And I had an urge to drive really, really close to a guard rail on my way to work this morning. :o

Um...what kind of injuries?
Not that I necessarily think you should come if you're worried about it, but I don't understand how the activity is particularly dangerous, provided the proper protection is used.

theres no reason not to play paintball. I have gone wearing nothing but a t-shirt for protection and it was HELLA fun...... yes thats right hella..

I went up to Semper-Fi paintball, north of Lynden (?) and it cost me $15.00 for the field fee, $15.00 for gun and mask rental, $20.00 for paintballs, $5.00 for ammo belt (so I wouldn't have to leave the game if I ran out of ammo)...
We got a hot dog and soda lunch, and unlimited play...

Wow, they've raised their prices. Used to be $5 field fee. And they used to give out coupons. Something like $15 for field fee, and rental of equipment. Then paintballs were an extra $1.00 per hundred to recoup their costs.

if we can can get a group it'll probably be cheaper.
I'm all for this! Infact if I have that long I might build a ghile suit while I'm waiting :D
yeah Diskslow my arms are a bit tired too. Those friggen crystals. A well its the good burn, if you just lift some weights (or heavy things like I did) for like 15mins you'll be kickass once again. Though this makes a perpeuating circle of you lifting to get rid of the pain from the workout the day before.

Paintballing price tag.
1.safty deposite 100 bucks. or if everyone goes in and rents tehem at once its 100 bucks for all. It is returned after the guns are returned and 15$ for a semi-auto gun and 10$ for a pump.
2.Paint. 15$ for 500 rounds of cheep paint or 45$ for 2000 rounds of really cheep paint. and of course 25$ for 500 premium paintballs. or 65$ for 2000 rds of premium paint.
3.Co2 fill up. A tank from semper fi comes full. or its 3$ for a 12oz tank and 4$ for a 20oz tank.
4.or if we go to the field it ads 15$ extra for a field fee per person. I think It is a lot better to go on a home field than the semper fi.
5.3$ for over alls or 5$ for camo over alls.
That is about it. I could make a few calls and get some other prices.
Of course I will :buttkick: and you all will :kneel: to me.

I also dont think we should go to a field. we could get a few guys at set up my field. We could also get Semper Fi to come out to a private field too.

hell yeah dave, I got a bruise on my left thigh...im not sure from what, maybe i smacked the wall too hard or something hehe
As to Paintball, I can acquire two paintball guns, both Compact Spyder's...along with two masks and some cannisters for ammo.
Also, don't bring your own paint...some Paintball fields I've been to don't allow anything else but their paint to be used on their fields.
As to injuries, don't worry. If you do get shot at close range, it will sting for a couple, but the pain goes away relatively fast :D
Just don't get shot in the nuts and you'l be fine ;)
However I have a wedding to attend sometime in June...I 'think' its the weekend of the 12th or the next weekend, I'l reconfirm :)

Best field around here, and Im sure Karl would give us a group discount on paint/field fee etc... cause he's nice like that :D
In short... we should go to SemperFi or a private field
Its actually more south of Lynden...

I've never been paintballing before, so I don't really have the foggiest idea what I'm talking about here, but I like the idea of a private field. I'm guessing that while a lot of you seem to be paintball pro's, there's also going to be a fair amount of people that, like me, have never gone before, and we aren't going to have much fun if we're raped up the keister by strangers that play this 24/7.
If a private field means something other than "a field we get all to ourselves", then nevermind. ;)
Valusek

Depends on how many people we get to go...we can probably split into two teams of 4-6 people. Any less and it wouldn't be that much fun...
tactics/teamwork is where its at :)
I agree with Dave, its fun if you know the opposing team.
Its not very fun if you don't know them and they whoop your ass.
If we are doing a group event, normally the paintball place would give us our own field to play on.

If we go to a "private field" I hope you guys know it will be an illegal field as well, anyways, that's what I do when I go paintballing. But I doubt we could make it an official BLE event for that. Anyways, I'd love to bring my outsider freinds as well so can I have the go ahead to start rounding them up? I could scratch up a few people :). If we want to go for the "private" field way, I know some cool places :)
EVERYONE PAINTBALL DOES NOT HURT, IT HURTS ABOUT AS MUCH AS A RUBBER BAND HITTING YOU, WEAR CLOTHING AND IT DOES NOT HURT AT ALL.
Now if some of you guys wuss out because you are afraid of pain, I am sorry, but I am bringing my Paintball gun to the june LAN and I will open up on you!
:)

When someone says private, they mean one that we will not have to pay for or one that we do not have to share. Not one that we tresspass on.

But in this day and age the word "free" is usually associated with the word "illegal"
Take the R.I.A.A. for example......

On with the private field chop chop... very good

It's illegal in some parts to play paintball, if it's not on a field. Dunno about in town, but it's that way in SV at least.

Yeah, it's really not a big issue if you play "illegally". As long as you arent shooting cows or some stupid stuff like that then you should be fine. Anyone who owns their own field I'd love to play at, but I doubt thats a truth.

seeings how you were the one who had told us about semper fi, you should know!
Semper fi is the only place round abouts that we know of that will accomodate us like this. Yeah a private field with just us would be nice, but I'm not going to go out and buy a gun and you can't expect others who don't have guns to do it either. ;)

100$ safty deposite will get them to bring a trailor of guns & gear to a private field and they will reff and rent out guns too. the safty deposite gets given back as long as nothin gets broken or STOLEN :grumpy:

plus playing @ a private field isent illagle. in town maby but not out in the county where our fields are. Someone also tried to tell me that you can get in trouble for playing over 300 fps. semper fi regulates that and I have been playing for 8 years and I know the rules and laws around it. its not illagle. if you want me to get all the info and rules then just tell me. I go over and visit Carl (the owner of semper fi) and talk ot him. I know him pretty well.

You do know they're clear cutting that area and building crap there, right?
My friend and I suggest you follow us up deeper into the woodland area that's pretty much abandoned and no one goes up there. Except to shoot bottles with bb guns and crap.

Well.. i recently got in touch with a private group, and a guy who sells C02 at $2 a fill, and will buy paint, as long as you pay him the exact price fo the paint, we meet every other Sunday, and this sunday there is a meet, so... ill talk to the guy who runs this, Mike Z. about it, the field he runs is near birch bay. :) I think he rents guns too? not sure... but if worse comes to worse, the ppl withou gund can rent from semper fi. *shrug*

After a review of Endr4r's post, Semper Fi seems best... but Mike Z. might be able to work something out :D plus, he knows tons of people who paintball.... 20vs20 teams :bulb:

hmm, sounds cool, but if we get alot of people we'll need to play on a real field, illegal fields are for small numbers.

04-29-2004, 04:41 PM
Pre register is like $15 or $20, and you can register with a group of friends to ensure that you're all on the same team. You can only buy paint by the case, and each case is about $40. I think you pay $10 for all day air. And you have to have money for food. I only ended up needing one case of paint (which I didn't even use) because I'm conservative with my shots, but if you aren't, you may need two. So it could cost anywhere from $80-$120. (This is including about $10 for food).
Jobe16
04-29-2004, 04:47 PM
see, expensive in alot of peoples eyes, thats like lets see, 11 hours of work, so if you worked 4 hours a day, thats almost 3 days of work for that!
Dr. Deezee
04-29-2004, 04:49 PM
True. But it is completely awesome. I mean, seriously.
And I don't think you need to buy paint at the event (so if you can find it cheaper or bring your own, that reduces the cost a lot).
In my opinon, it's completely worth it.

You're asking for ball jams. $40/case paint is already INCREDIBLY cheap. Anything cheaper would be messed up. Cheapest I'll go is $65/case. That's for Marblizer. It's the ONLY paint I use. Well, if I had the opportunity I might use Starball. But that stuff is expensive as well.
