Metroid movie targeting a 2006 release (http://www.cinescape.com/0/editorial.asp?aff_id=0&this_cat=Movies&action=page&type_id=&cat_id=270338&obj_id=41229)
Jon Woo (Paycheck, M:I-2, Face/Off) is attached to Produce, and possibly direct.

Everyone talks about how great of a director John Woo is.
I disagree. He can do a decent action sequence, but his movies always feel very two dimensional to me.

Amen to that.
I've never liked Woo as a director. His action scenes are terrific if you like over-the-top and cliched action sequences, but his dramatic scenes are always shallow. They're missing something. Drama is equally as important as action in action movies.

Did you guys see WindTalkers? Woo directed that as well...I couldn't even stand watching the first five minutes...the action sequences sucked and were completely unrealistic :(

O_O  @ Jon
Sidescrolling adventure game, about Bounty Hunter Samus Aran and her quest to destroy Mother Pain-in-the-ass, er Mother Brain and the Space Pirates, as well as the Metroids, there has been Metroid(NES), Metroid II: Return of Samus(NES), Super Metroid(SNES), Metroid Fusion (GBA), and Metroid Prime (GCN), each with their own parts of the storyline respectively. Go goole the words 'metroid' & 'samus aran' and you'll find a wealth of info on the series.
=EDIT= Metroid Prime was the firs Metroid game to leap from Side Scrolling Adventure to a FPS game on the GameCube, i have it, if you want to check it out.
Metroid Prime 2 will be coming out soon as well.
