Hey guys (and perhaps gals)-
I just got my account in the experiment, my interest was prompted by my previous participation in the LAN Tournament Ender held at the Best Western. Some friends of mine told me about the site and... yeah this is supposed to be a game review.
Anyway, as the subject line suggests, the game i'm reviewing is Savage. When I was first introduced to it about a week ago, I was surprised when my friends claimed they found a RTS/FPS combo game. Savage, though simple in nature, is a massive multiplay only game that can support up to (I think) 64 players either over a LAN or through the net. The basics of the game are pretty simple: Two teams battle it out head to head in a RTS like fashion. Except the catch: all the soldiers are players playing in FPS mode, commanded by a (1 per team) commander that gives the players the ability to work together with an overhead view. The commander also maintains the simple economy, plans the base (and the defenses), and researches new toys for his/her team to mutilate the enemy with.
Oh, and another thing, multiple players can play (without the CD at all) all using the same CD key. So, since one of my friends already has the game, I figured it would be a nice game for people to test out at the upcoming event. Who knows?
