BLE September has come and gone, and I've got the scarrs to prove it!
Sadly, it seems when the hotel promised me Internet Access what they were really promising was "Extremely gay access throttled down to 56k and controlled by a nazi-communist-socialist-tyrant that would ban us for...well...just about anything".
We've used this facility in the past, and while we had Internet issues then, I wasn't aware that it was Hotel Policy for us to have issues with the Internet. In fact, the conference room manager wasn't aware that the conference room Internet Access was managed in that manner either...she was as shocked as I was.
BLE's official policy regarding lan parties is that a lan party without Internet access is not worth throwing. Our next event WILL have functional Internet, I promise. No matter what we need to do, we'll find a way. I'm working on a resolution at that hotel, and until they can promise us something that works, I'll be looking for a new venue that can.
If you went to BLE September and didn't have fun, let me know and I'll refund your money. It was a crappy lan party, probably our second worst of all time, and I'd much rather take a loss than never see you again. I'm completely serious about this.
In the mean time, our next event will be announced as soon as I have a venue that can promise us no gay Intarwebs, so don't stray too far.
