Yea...a smaller version would be a Good Idea. We don't have any solid rules on the size of signatures, (nor am I a fan of any "set in stone" rules), but I'm inclined to say that the average sig should be smaller than the average post. =)

I cant get a smaller version unless i resize it and host it on a website because theres no way to upload it from my computer...... lets see if i can get geocites to work >_<

BLE can host a sig too, if need be. But, again, I would like to try and keep the size fairly reasonable. ;)

well, the smaller mech one is 270KB, and another one from The Animatrix that i made is 241KB, a flame one i got is 138KB, and a small one of my Gaia character is 52.7KB. Is that small enough? they are all reasonable sizes in pixels as well, enough so that they are smaller, but you can still see them nicely. how about it?

I hate listing policy just because it puts me in the position of an authority figure, and I don't believe in censorship.

That said, we want the site to be accessable for 56k modem users. After all...I'm one of them. ;) Just know that it takes the average 56k modem about 10 seconds to download 50k. That means a 150k file would be 30 seconds. 270k would be nearly a minute. Throw in several different sigs for several different users, and suddenly 56k users find the forum too slow to be worth their while.

Also, take a look at how much physical size the sig takes compared to your post. Notice how a tall image will push everything down while a wider and shorter image keeps the forum looking reasonable.

Just be aware of these concepts and do your best to find a good balance between expressing yourself and making life easier for everyone else.
