Kiro, Channel 7. Second half. So... first half, some *thing* lands next to a navy vessel and starts doing weird stuff... it looks like a metal star/christmas ornament that keeps morphing. Everyone who saw it started tripping out. They found one person alive, they shot him, he's still alive..

Something about the ship, it appears to be a 4 or 5 dimensional shape shifting... thing. It appears the aliens are WAY superior to us. Its on NOW.

Stargate > Threshhold. Mid-season finale was tonight. Two episodes. Second one was fantastic.

Star Trek TNG > Stargate > Battlestar Galactica > All other tv sci-fi.

Stargate > TNG. No question. SG-1's acting was, by far, the best of any Sci-Fi television ever made. And the stories had so much more intelligent content, IMO.

Okay, so Patrick Stewart is the best sci-fi actor ever. But the rest of the cast wasn't quite as good as SG-1's core members. Michael Shanks is the best actor on television today, IMO. And Beau Bridges, Lou Gossett Jr., etc., are all on SG-1, now. <3

TNG, namely the last 4 seasons of the series, was far more mature than what I've seen of SG1 (I'm nearing the end of Season 2 right now). Perhaps it improves later on, but I've everything I've seen from SG1 shows that it seems to bridge the gap between the kid oriented Star Wars and the adult oriented Star Trek.

Season 3-5 are probably the best. Five, specifically, and any episodes from six with Daniel in them.

Just wait for Window of Opportunity. Best. Episode. Ever. Ever! Of any sci-fi television.

It's difficult for me to imagine it could be better than the two parter where Picard is Borg-erized.

If only the Star Trek movies were as good as those episodes. =(

LOL. Have you watched the Stargate movie? Same effect. Except with that, the movie was what spawned the show. I watched the show first, then the movie. I couldn't even sit through the movie.

Sci-fi, I think, is better-suited for TV shows. A good writing staff can turn a single concept into something spanning ten years of shows.

As for Window of Opportunity, it deals with a time loop, but Richard Dean Anderson (Jack) and Chris Judge (Teal'c) are hilarious throughout the whole thing -- they're the only ones who remember the time loop. So, imagine living the same day over and over, with no consequences for your actions. ;)

(Actually, Threads -- a 90-minute episode from season 8 -- was the best episode if you like the more adult-oriented episodes. It was a sprawling show about morality and a huge part of the more recent Stargate mythology.)

LOL. Have you watched the Stargate movie?
Yeap. I didn't think it was painful, just painfully mediocre.
