it was very ironic I was listening to witchcraft by frank sinatra when I read of atom chips 6.8Ghz laptop with 2TB of memory (http://www.ubergizmo.com/15/archives/2005/09/68ghz_laptop_wi.html).

They are promising a working demo at CES 2006, though people promise a lot of things.

Reading further into the website I think they built it as a laptop to demostrate how little power consumption there is used.

wow for being able to make quantom processsors they suck at html!

I have no clue if this is real or not, and like the article says nobody knows how it will compare to a normal CPU. In addition they say they will show it at january's CES. It may become available long after that and other cpu's could be far faster. Its 256mbs of cache is inteteresting though.

The only thing out of that article which has merit as interesting is the 1 & 2tb solid state storage devices! Those are pretty awesome sounding!

The US government has a 2TB RAM disk. Why would you want a 2TB solid state device when you can have a 2TB RAM disk?

In answer to your question, I shall pose another: why masturbate if you can have sex?

Sick? Yes. But it makes my point. :p

That's not fake. OEM's put a picture in that area to show the maker of the system. They just suck at matching colors.

Granted, it *could* be fake. But saying the OEM picture in the system properties is the reason why is completely bogus.

You're right I was just feeling a little persnickity....

Does windows even support that much ram?

probably, windows xp was built to be very open-ended when it comes to hardware compatabilility. I know that it was built for TB hard drive capacities, why not TB RAM?

Itsmeee

i believe it can support that much, its been hardware in the past that can't (one of the main reasons for 64bit). Wether or not it can utilize it to the users gain is a big question (I'd say no), but wether or not it can isn't the main thing here. Replacing the hard drive is what is important! The speed you could get would be awesome!

YES.

Biggest bottleneck in the world of computing (Aside from the internet, of course).
