So, many of us played the FarCry demo. How many of you bought the game. Is it any good? How is the multiplayer? Did anyone play it at the last lan?

yeah, the graphics are amazing, but I think the multi lacks a little.

I think it is like a Model-Girlfriend. It looks better than it is. Now I am not saying it isn't a good game, but I think they went for eye appeal, more than substance. JMO

I picked it up but haven't had time to look at it yet. And since I'm pretty much a multi player only kind of gamer, you can be sure that I'll have an opinion or two on that matter once I give it a whirl. :D

However, if there ever was a single player game I'd get based on a demo it'd be this one. That demo owned and I've never had so much fun in a single player game with the exception of X-Wing and TIE Fighter...yes, FarCry sp demo kicked Doom's ass. :moon:

I got the game on saturday, single player rocks, havent tried multi yet but its probably good, its a great game over all and is definately worth your money. And i think many people willl be playing it by may lan, but its so new that not as many will be playing it april lan i dont think... dunno..

There was a couple hours of this being played at LPNW, and people appeared to really enjoy it, despite the seemingly limited multiplayer modes.

btw that list is just a guess. :) It's based off of past LANs but there are others that get played as well. :)

I was going to buy Far Cry yesterday. But Game Stop did not have it. I picked up Hitman 2 and Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow instead. Splinter Cell is prety cool so far.

w00t, I really enjoyed the whole attidude of Hitman2. The killer in the suit. Very classy.

, Well I got FarCry today and this is what I think so far.

1. I need a beter Video card. the 5600 I have now does not cut it. Especialy indoors.

2. I like the single player so far. Its fun and its nice that they don't make you follow a set path too much. There are many ways to beat each level.

3. Multiplayer online SUCKS ASS! I went to look for a server to play on and I foud this. Pings on the first 4 servers were 359, 453, 453, 1109. All the rest 9999. Totaly unplayable online.

Is there a patch for this game yet? I am on dsl. While that may not be as fast as cable its not slow enough for these kind of pings. Other games play fine online.

Guess I will have to wait for the LAN. It will be a great game I think. Just have to get over the online Multiplayer issues.

yeah theres a patch that supposedly fixes the netcode but i have yet to try online again. the patch also optimizes some video settings. u should try it b4 ditching the 5600. I got a 5700 and its pretty good.

I take some of it back. Multiplayer is much better after the patch. If your a fan of being a sniper this is the multiplayer game for you. God I hate snipers. :mad:

Yea its fun untill you have all 6 guys in a map sitting on their own hills with sniper rifles. All sittting there waiting for the others to move.

eh, I dunno, might play a LITTLE bit, but not a whole lot. I wanna get some BF V and RvS in as well. Oh, and I also have been working my arse off in UT2k4, even changed my key config to function better, so I will be playing a lot of that as well!!! :D

Heh...well I finally got around to installing it and playing it. And for those who were there to witness it...:slant: hehe...my video card at the default settings (the ones that the game said were optimized for my system by the game) were total crap. No explosion effects...could see the water but only cause it was so ugly, and a bunch of other stuff. Completely unplayable. I haven't messed with it at all, but I suppose that I could go in and lower the settings and see if I get anything else, but I dunno.

Pretty weird considering that the demo played fine. :shrug: Guess there is something to that direct x 9 stuff. ;)

LOL it runs pretty well on my system unless you are in multiplayer, where it doesn't get the best framerates in the world . . .

Single player rocks, multiplayer sucks.
