So basically, after driving the truck around alot, and trying everything involved with carb adjustment on the damn thing, I've determined that the carb needs to be replaced.
After making this decision my Dad talked to some friends at work and one of them loaned us his 32/36 DGEV Weber carb. However it's dirty as hell, completely ratted out, and it's missing a lot of parts, including the throttle linkage.
So I have a task for BLE:
I have a 1981 Z22 4cyl. engine that needs a new carburator. I need to find one that is cheap, and if we go into bonus round, I would want a Weber carb. Find me one in my price range and I'll pay you 10 bucks. I wont be able to buy the carbs until this coming friday at the earliest, due to money issues.
Model numbers for weber carbs:
K662 32/36 DGEV: This would be my first choice, as they shouldn't be too horribly expensive as rebuilt or used parts. I have the manifold conversion plates for this carb already, so all I need is the carb itself. (As well as the throttle linkage)
K638 40 DCOE x2: This is for 2 DCOE caburators. If I were to find these for a non-rediculous price (Hello ice cube, meet hell) then I would love you LONG TIME as they are high performance carbs. I would also need an intake manifold to go with them, but they are usually packaged together. If I could get all this for under 400 bucks, I would be very very happy.
Stock Carburator: Very difficult to find, and could easily run me 250-350 dollars, and it offers lower performance in comparison to the other two. I would really prefer a weber over this, but if the price is right, this will make the truck run.
