BTW, I was never interested in seeing this movie until I read a review or an interview or something that cleared some confusion I had on exactly what the movie is.

The movie isn't Independance Day. It's not Earth vs. Mars. It's not a desperate epic battle of worlds. It's a guy trying to keep his family safe.

For me, that concept has way more appeal. It probably won't for everyone, but it does for me.

Plus a lot of shit gets blown up. So there's that too.

I guess you never saw the original / read the book? I enjoyed the original, and if it's anything like the new one (which sorta looks like it is) it should be bad fucking ass.

Never saw the original, and I have an allergic reaction to reading. I break out into hives, my throat swells up, my eyes water....it's bad news. :(

Book = George Orwell, author of 1984, and Animal Farm, amongst others.

Speilberg & Cruise = Will, without a doubt, ruin this film.

Me = Angry that I have to see it anyways.

probably War of the Worlds.

War of the Worlds was written by HG Wells (http://www.online-literature.com/wellshg/), not George Orwell (http://www.online-literature.com/orwell/).

You just hate speilberg and cruise because speilberg wrote out the lead mexican in minority report and replace him with Cruise. LOL

Oh yeah, I'm in if I can get the day night off work.
Red Robin has hot waitress girls sometimes.
I like hot girls.
Because they are hot.
Girls.

Actually you hit my #1 reason right on the nose, the list with that movie is quite long...

Tom cruise can get any movie he wants to, and spielberg can make almost any movie a blockbuster, but if you are a huge movie director can't you afford to launch a few unrecognized faces into the spotlight?

and save the "he has to make money, film-making is a buisness" arguements speilberg could polish a turd, as he has done in the past, and made bazillions of dollars doing it...

Exactly what is his style of film-making anyway? The "no-style" style? seriously can any one film-maker get more generic?

He might as well have cast Tom Hanks in the damn thing!

FYI, signups are open at http://www.bellinghamlan.com/lan_events?eventid=26

You're on your own for tickets, so don't paypal me any money for this event. When the official showtime is picked (something around 7:00) I suggest Fandango'ing. If you do that, and enter in the code "LOEWS1", you may get a $1.00 discount, but I don't know how long that offer lasts.

It's not strictly necessary to sign up, but it's nice to see who's planning on making it.
