1. Military. Silent, non line of sight, communication for Special Forces. Hand signals are great. But only work if you can see each other.
2. They mention the disabled. But take it one step farther. Look at some people who are so disabled that they cannot communicate at all. Some people wonder if there is any intelligent thought at all left in their heads. This device could help answer that question.
3. Interrogations. You can only thing gibberish for so long before you slip up inside your head.
The biggest draw back would be privacy concerns. No longer can your thoughts be truly private after they perfect this technology.
