I like to go outside in the summer. Too bad we don't have more wi-fi hotspots in Bham. You wouldn't believe how many unsecured wi-fi networks there are in Bellingham. And my USB wireless adapter has incredible range... I just need to attach it by velcro to the roof of my truck and I've got a mobile command center. It's kinda cool to just be parked somewhere and have internet access. It would be REALLY cool if they put some wi-fi networks in at Broadway Park, and Zuanich Park. I would love to go sit out on one of the benches and surf the net.
I'm such a geek.... :D

hehe... how do you think I know how many unsecured networks there are? ;) When I first got the wireless adapter, I drove around for an hour or so. That was a year ago... so I'm sure there are plenty more! Just on North Shore Dr alone there were at least 10. It's sooo funny. These technically inept people buy wireless so they don't have to screw around with a wired network. And they don't even change the default settings on their router! I saw quite few networks named "Linksys" and "Netgear".

lol, more bandwidth for ussses!
It is kinda sad though. I mean you could drive around and set up ftp's and shite on there pc's and get anything off there computers without them knowing. I'd almost like to tell them about there probs and help fix them but then like I said, more bandwidth for ussses!

Yes and no... you can only screw around with their machines if they have stuff shared. If I saw a shared computer, I'd probably type a nice note for the person and save it on their desktop.... wait.. probably not!

dude if there wifi isn't incrypted even with no shares you can do nasty NASTY things!

I know about the DoS attacks. But what else can someone do? My friend has refused to encrypt his. He says he just doesn't care.
