First off, March/April LAN RAWKED. You know it's good when I use RAWKED to describe it. ;)

There was much of all 5 of our Goth's to be had, and the best part is, due to the smaller numbers (had 24 in total attendence) is that every game almost had everyone playing in it at once. That = much fun. Plus with the leet 'I' setup we had going it was a lot more, how you say, intimate. ;)

Made for lots of good yelling, screaming, and other such banter as you can image. :erm: Ravenshield, Tribes Vengeance, UT2004, CSS, and DC Coop all had appearances, in healthy amounts. Flatout saw a lot of action with lots of whooping as well. ;) And even in the weee hours of the night/morning, RvS had some sweet coop action as well, which was much fun, tactical and stealthy like. :)

There were tons of prizes too - tshirts from Penny Arcade galore in all the hottest sizes. ;) Games a plenty and our tournament winners got some nice flash drives as well.

Upcoming Events

So as many of you are probably aware, there are a few upcoming events worth noting. ;) First up, is our leet bbq and movie midlan! The last Saturday in April will be a day to remember as BLE storms local theatres to watch the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and then have a BBQ at a local park afterwards! Cost for this is $10, but we'll take care of your ticket for you. Prepay only: payment@bellinghamlan.com for paypal. And pm me if you can't use paypal...but you should just get paypal set up. ;) The details and signed up list for this event are in this (http://www.bellinghamlan.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5443) thread.

Next is our geexz0r Star Wars LAN. The info for this event is found in this (http://www.bellinghamlan.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5584) thread. Things worth noting now are:
May 21st, 24 LAN, lunch, dinner, breakfast, and movie tickets provided by BLE, cost $30, all Star Wars games, prepay only. Prepay via paypal: payment@bellinghamlan.com. You need to do this asap so we can have the funds to buy the tickets in advance. If you can't paypal pm me, but please try and use paypal...it's free, links to your checking account, and really easy to use.

and now...

The Good or Bad news, depending on how you look at it...

I made the original announcement in another thread, but this is the official announcement: I'm moving in a few months. It's looking like Late June, but the date isn't set in stone yet.

I'm moving to Utah to be exact - Very far away from here. :(

First off, I don't think BLE is planning on going under because of this. Ghrog and Dave are perfectly capable and I think want to keep it going. One of my main goals with this LAN was to make a community for gamers in bham, and if I succeeded, then this LAN won't die at all, and you all will keep coming once a month to game with each other. I hope these forums expand in members and the LANs stay full and new people are brought in and mingle with everyone to help solidify the community. For further details on how things are going to work, ask Dave or Ghrog. ;)

Second, the reason why I'm moving is so I can finish school. Having a wife and two kids, a full time job, among other things ;) doesn't promote a very swift course through college unfortunately and at the rate I'm going it will be a very long time before I finish...significantly lessening my chances of finishing. I could just take out massive loans so I could go full time to school and depend on those loans to survive, but it doesn't seem like a very smart move considering I'm going to have to pay for school as well with that money.

My parents have a large house in Utah with nobody left living in it but them since all the kids have moved out. They'd like someone around to help fill it up. ;) That means cheap living expense if I take my family there, plus time for my wife and kids to get closer to my side of the family. Paying for school won't be so daunting then (plus it's cheaper there once I'm a resident), plus I'll be able to go full time since I won't need so much money just to stay alive and support the family. This means I'll be able to punch through school much faster.

What I hope by the end of this is that Bellingham will continue to grow economically and have a job for me to come back to. I really like it here - the weather, the people (even the libs ;)), the pace of life...it suits me rather well I think. Plus it's good middle ground between my family and my wife's family.

As for what I'm going to school for - right now I'm looking at getting a teaching degree in English/History, a minor in Graphic Design, and right after that going back and getting a Master of Business Administration. All things that interest me, and I figure with that lineup it shouldn't be terribly hard to find a job that can support my family.

It's been awesome going these LANs, and I'm going to miss it, but I will be involved with Good Game and Maddeh's doings down there for sure, so you can bet I'll still be around the site causing trouble. ;) Plus I'm helping out with PAX this year - so y'all should come so we can hang out and stuff (though I likely won't have a ton of time at the event) down there.

I'm looking forward to our next couple of events: I forgot to mention the week after the Star Wars LAN we're having the non FPS LAN (12 hour, $5 LAN) which should be a hoot. And of course, before I leave, we'll have a special 'going away' LAN...

Sucks to see you go, Ednar-duder. After highschool, I was planning on GTFOing down to Olympia and from there I was going to travel the world and have sex with beautiful women.

Is this looking at you, kid?
