Okay, I haven't started playing the full version yet... but I wanted to prepare some of you for this game. There is a very strong likelyhood that after installation, the game will not run. Atari might tell you that you need to send a file to some company to have your copy verified for copy protection issues. Or they might tell you that it has nothing to do with the copy protection. All of this is a lie. Lots of people are having this problem and Atari isn't offering a fix.

If you have this problem, go to gamecopyworld and download the no-cd patch. After replacing the UT2004.exe file with the patched file, the game will load.

Let's just say I was getting a little pissed that the demo worked perfectly but the full version wouldn't get past the splash screen!

Yeah, even though I had no problems with my DVD, I grabbed the no-cd anyways. Having to deal with cd's is a pain, no-cds are almost a requirement for me anymore. I just get a crack for any game I buy anymore.

Okay, now that I've played it for 10 minutes... I'm happy! Xbox controller still isn't completely functional(same prob with right thumbstick), but the half that I use works.... so that's pretty cool. I'd try and play with you guys tomorrow night... but it looks like I'm going out with a friend to celebrate another quarter finished! But I might be able to play for an hour or two before we go out.

im downloading UT2K4 demo from gamespot today and by the time that the april lan rolls around, ill have the full version by then. hopefully it will still be a popular game.

UT2k3 has been a popular game with us right up through last lan. I suspect UT2k4 will have a lasting effect on us.

I am glad that I bought the game when it came out, but I only played it online once and I didn't care for it too much. For me, it is either I am really into the game and really good, or just not playing it at all. Seeing as I hardly ever play it, I suck. Therefore, I play with bots.

Yeah, I got my butt kicked last night. Ender is amazing. Good thing we were on the same team for our little 2v2 match! But we lost somehow. Probably me bringing him down.

It was Ghrog. He was getting all pissy. BTW, I was on last night but it looked like Disco was the only one playing, and try as I might, I couldn't find the game he was in(guessing it was a private game). I sat in the BLE server for a bit but no one came in... I'll be up for some more tonight if anyone wants to. I just need to get some food first! I'm starving!

hehe...the server dave was on was the goodgame server. We used to have the ip posted but you can join through xfire. The pw to that server is (*gasp*) gg. :D Shoulda let you know...sorry man, would have been fun to have you!

I won't be on tonight, but I do have a match tomorrow night and plan to play a little more after wards if you're up for playing late. :)

But that's what makes it cool! Cause it's different then all the other fps's so there's a challenge again. Instead of just picking it up and all of the sudden being good at it, there's something to learn and challenge yourself with.

No I'm not on the mod team, I am the captian/server admin of LXG League of Xtreme Gamers www.lxg-clan.com . I just was wondering how many of you played EO. I play EO ctf and dm, once EO gets in ur blood, you can't get rid of it. I liked invasion too, but it's not realy a game u can play as a clan.

It was always just a fun thing to play with - for competition I play just regular. But EO is a lot of fun to play at LANs and when the competition gets too serious. ;) I'm surprised that there are competitive ladders for it though! I never would have guessed that! :) You should come to the LAN - 2k4 is a big game for us. BLE will hopefully unveiling our own mod at that time as well...

EO is the way to go Man I would Love to check out the LAN party but it would be kinda like a pain to pack up the gear . That and I am an Old Timer That is Y when u see me online I get to shoot first (Slow Reflexes) :selfbonk: But I am wondern if u guys got any IPS of the servers you play on.. I mostly Play 2k3 and 2k4 UT!
Excessive Overkill it Roks! Kinda courious as to what ur MOD is gunna be I will keep in touch and see what u guys come up with. The guy who made the EO mod for 2k3 is doin it for 2k4 so it should ROCK. he also has a Starwars type mod called Troopers he is workn on! for u Starwars type fans. (Total Conversion)

Sorry, didn't see this for some reason.

It's real paintball, but it's also real exclusive to people who have been to at least one BLE event.

(BTW, our mod WILL be making it's debut in this lan. I know we've been saying that for 3 months, but I mean it this time. ;))

check - the alpha version of our mod - will be making it's debute. :) It will be available to LANees only. :) It won't go public till it's about the sexiest thing in the entire world for all to drool over and pay us much monies with. :)
