Okay, I just bought and installed a XP 2600+ chip today and my system is recognizing it as a XP 2000+ running @ 1.53 mhz. Now I know (according to both the package and the label on the chip) it is a 2600+. So do I need to change anything in my Bios or such, to have it recognize and run my chip at the correct speed and setting?

FYI- I have a MSI kt4 ultra mobo with enough fsb etc. to run said chip, so that's not the problem. And I have 768 2700 DDR mem, so that too shouldn't be a problem.

Change the front side bus in the bios to 166. If the bios already lists the front side bus as some number higher than 166 (like...um...266), then change it to 333.

Vice President of BLE Incorporated is a demanding job. ;)

Now if you'll excuse me, we're having a minor revolt on one of our child labor camps in Elbonia and it must be dealt with immediately. THOSE PESKY KIDS WILL TAKE 15 CENTS A DAY AND THEY WILL LIKE IT!

I don't have to like it, because I'm not from Elbonia.

And I certainly didn't engineer the revolt.

It's not like I hold ALL TH3Y MARBALLS or anything.
