Counter-Strike 1.6 Tournaments?

Hey, I just found this site while searching for local LAN tournaments. I am a Computer Science Major @ WWU if anyone's interested. Do you guys know of any local LANs that have a Counter-Strike 1.6 tournament coming up this year? Most of the local tournaments these days don't even have 1.6 on their list! I'm part of a team that wants to attend 1.6 tournaments, but it feels like all of them are in California, Texas, or the east coast. Any help would be appreciated.

with CPL and most other major tournaments leaning towards CSS these days, I think the number of 1.6 tourny's are going to start dwindling.

We're the only party in town, and we play CSS (among many other games), but we're mostly a for fun party, so any tournaments we do have we put a twist on so they're not entirely skill based. It'd still be great to have you though if you want to have a good time. :rup: Next party is a week from today.

Even if we dont have a real CS 1.6 tourney going, I'm sure you'll have a blast coming to hang out :)

Also: Note the 6.3k posts: I came for the gaming tourneys too, but I stayed for the community ;)

CS 1.6 at this time is a whole lot better and more fun than CS:S, especially when you've got a good team of guys to play with. :/

The few we know of coming up are:
xtremelan Vancouver w/CS 1.6 AND Source - late July
PDX Lan 5 w/Source - mid August
PAX LAN w/source - late August

Our team's not ready for a switch to source yet. If you hear of any local 1.6 LANs coming up, please post them here. :)

I think our BG2 team might be down to play 1.6 a bit at the LAN if you guys wanna come, but our LAN only has 40 people... that's hardly enough for a tournament (unless you expect all 40 people to be CS players, lol).

So you guys just looking for competition? If so, then yeah, you've got pretty much all the ones I know about.

Our LAN is based around having a good time - so if you play any other games then you should come. Come as a team and we'll give you the prepay price at the door. ;) Keep in mind we're not into competition that much at the LANs, but just more about having a good time. It'd be nice to have some new blood, and I know our CS crowd would love to bolster their ranks. ;)
