aside from the kinda cheesy voice overs (and low quality) the trailer looks really cool and I hope the gameplay of it meets up with it's cool looks. I can't wait for this one at the LAN! :woot:

Space battles look to be really really awesome, I'm definitely excited for this one.

I just got done going through all the maps by myself.
It's very cool. However it's hard to say if it will be anymore fun than Vanilla or DC or whatever. I am inclined to think it won't be. But this is HUGE improvement over their first release. HUGE.
Couple dissapointments: Unless I got the wrong version, there are no space battle maps. :(
The rebel sniper uses a frickin bf42vanilla sniper rifle with a fancy scope.
There were one or two weird bugs in a couple maps.
And the vehicles are as hard as hell fire to control
Pros: The maps are really well done, aside from those bugs. Beautiful and well designed for play.
The vehicles look fantastic.
The skins look fantastic.
The weapons (aside from rebel snipe) look awesome.
The playability is what seems to hurt, but not much. I think it has a lot of potential...too bad Star Wars Battlefront is coming soon...this is likely to fade away cause of that. But it should have some value for a while. :)

I have not played all the maps yet but this is my experience so far. Vehicles are hard to drive/pilot. Not enough vehicles. Combine not enough vehicles with very large maps and you get a long run, just to get killed. Even the one indoor map I played on was huge. It took a good 2 minutes just to get close to the next base. and on the particular map I was on, the rebels had pistols and the imperials had rifles. with the long straight hallways the rebels couldn't get close without being sniped.
I'm not impressed so far. What a let down. :slant:

Yeah I thought the maps were too big too...not to mention that the vehicles you'd expect to move fast across the map (xwings, tie fighters etc) don't.
And each map doesn't have enough vehicles for the scope either which is kinda lame - though pretty much every vehicle has two spots in it.
One thing that is uuuuuuuuuuuber lame...THERE'S NO PARACHUTE! LOL I tried jumping out of a t-16 and parachuting to a control point. I was floating along all nice and easy so I figured that I was parachuting with some space aged wonder...not so. For suddenly the ground came up to meet me and all I heard was my character say, "ugaheahakhekljfdfhashjfa" and death became me. :(

The lack of a parachute doesn't bother me, but the absolutely wonky vehicle motion is aggravating. Still, hopping into an AT-ST is a lot of fun. Landspeeders don't float very well, so quick changes in terrain will blow them up 4/5 times.
Oh well, perhaps .3 will be better. ;)

The space maps are available only in the objective mode. You cannot have space battles while doing conquest. There are 3 maps, one of which is attacking the death star with x-wings. Wish we would have know this at the LPNW lan.
