View Full Version : Xbox Signup!

Okay, things are changing a bit for the Xbox signups for this Lan. We are still working out the details, but it would help to get an unofficial list going. We had an awesome turnout, and we would like to keep it going!
The concern(which is being worked on) is working out a system for the signups. We need to make sure that we have enough Xbox's and controllers for everyone that shows up. It would really suck to have 20 people show up at the next one, but have only 4 xbox's(16 person capacity). So if we could get some numbers on Xbox's as soon as possible, it will help us to figure out what our capacity is.
So far:
Xbox:
M4LFUNCT10N
Ghrog
The Bandit - (2 or 3)
SuperDude
Valusek
AgtOrange
Dr. Deezee(tentative)
Controllers:
M4LFUNCT10N - 6
Ghrog - 6
The Bandit - (10-12)
SuperDude - 2
Valusek - 6
AgtOrange - 4
Dr. Deezee - 3
TVs:
M4LFUNCT10N - 2 TV's
Ghrog - 1 Projector
The Bandit - 2 TV's possibly a projector
Ender - 1 27" TV
Rawkus - 1 27" TV
Valusek - 1 32" TV
Agt Orange - 1 27" TV

I'll unofficially sign up. I'd like to go but my mom's a little weird about these types of things, so we'll see. I'll have more news on that later tonight/tomorrow.
I can also offer up an XBox and up to three controllers, if needed.
M4LFUNCT10N
03-01-2004, 01:50 PM
Is that three including the one you'll use? Post how many you'll be bringing total. That will give us an idea how many extra controllers we need to have.
Dr. Deezee
03-01-2004, 01:52 PM
Right, that's including mine. So three controllers total.

Updated. Thanks for the info!
SuperDude
03-05-2004, 08:05 AM
ill bring 1 xbox, 2 controllers and 1 halo
Dr. Deezee
03-07-2004, 12:00 AM
Oh yeah.
I also have a copy of Halo (allbeit quite scratched up) and copies of Unreal Championship, Soul Calibur 2, and Ghost Recon.
M4LFUNCT10N
03-07-2004, 08:27 AM
Do you have dirt disc errors? We had problems with one of our copies of Halo last time, and I'd like to prevent that from happening this time.
I can exchange one copy of Halo for someone. I've got a warranty on my copy, and I can swap discs with someone to get theirs replaced, but I doubt I can do more than one in a month or two months span. I'm sure the people at EB would figure out what I was doing.
Anyway, if you don't have dirty disc errors, then I'll try and get the other copy swapped out. Somebody's copy kept forcing a reboot every 10 minutes or something stoopid like that.
So does this mean that your mom is letting you come?

As of yet, I'm unable to officially announce my plans to attend.
The Saturday of this LAN is the last Saturday of my spring break, and it's quite possible that I won't be back in B-Ham until the day after the LAN...
But, if I DO come, I'll bring whatever is needed:
1. Up to 8 controllers
2. Up to 2 copies of Halo
3. Up to 2 X-Boxes
4. One 27" TV, one 19" TV
M4LFUNCT10N
03-07-2004, 12:04 PM
Ok, I'll wait on putting you on the list.
Dr. Deezee
03-07-2004, 12:56 PM
Yeah, it gets disc errors, but usually only after you beat a level in campaign. I haven't tried it multiplayer yet.
And yes, my mom is letting me come. I should sign up on the event page soon.

Dirty Disc Errors could be two different things:
1. Your disc could really be dirty or scratched. The Skip Doctor will fix your X-Box games. Clean the disc this way and try it again.
2. Your DVD drive on your X-Box could be failing. If this is the case (and often it is) here's hoping you opted for the 2 year warranty wherever you got it... Best Buy will replace your X-Box straight across for a new one if you got it there, and paid $10.00 for the 2 year replacement warranty. If you do end up having to replace it, you should make sure you get that 2 year insurance. What have you got to lose, right?

List is looking good! btw I've upped xbox signups to 24 so lets fill 'em up and make sure we have enough to go around! :woot:

I'll be bringing a 27" TV...you can add that to the list. :)

Is there any way to get some good XBox CounterStrike matchs goin down?
I think it'd be hard, though, since you need an XBox, TV, and game per player.
M4LFUNCT10N
03-15-2004, 09:43 AM
The hard part is asking people to give up their play time. We allow more people than we get boxes... meaning everybody is sharing to some extent. Although if we get as many as last time with fewer players, it's totally possible.
Dr. Deezee
03-15-2004, 02:30 PM
Hm.
Well how many versions of CounterStrike do we have, anyway?
And I don't remember if I said this already, but I also have a copy of Soul Calibur 2 and Unreal Championship.

Can't you have a game per 4 players? Or is there no split screen CS gaming??
Dr. Deezee
03-15-2004, 04:41 PM
I'm fairly certain that, like many recent XBox titles, it's no split screen. But you'd have to get someone who actually had the game to confirm that.
M4LFUNCT10N
03-15-2004, 05:03 PM
No split screen. No single player. The game was made specifically for online play.

I think I just convinced another friend to come with me + bring an XBox (plus some controllers, probably), so go me! I might get some other friends too, but I won't post a definite amount of extra persons/machines/controllers/games until I get a positive confirmation from each party concerned or some such.

Make sure you get them to the forums and signed up. :) Then they can sit around and spam with us! :woot:

Mmmm. Spam.

So my friend is definately coming, and he'll be lugging with him another Box, and I think some extra controllers. (3, including his)
Ender
03-17-2004, 04:55 PM
He going to sign up???
And M4L you can put Schnyd down for a 27" TV. :)
M4LFUNCT10N
03-17-2004, 05:08 PM
Awesome. Looks like we should have some awesome action. Hopefully we'll have less people per Xbox. I'm definately looking forward to having my own screen.
Dr. Deezee
03-17-2004, 05:16 PM
Not sure if he's going to sign up or not (he's not online much) but he's coming with me, so you could, you know, write his name in on the sign-up list or something. >_>
I'll email him the link tomorrow morning and tell him to sign up for the forums and such--he may or may not.
Ender
03-17-2004, 05:27 PM
heh...actually our system hasn't been configured to allow us to manually add signups. The option is there, but it doesn't work yet. I think we lost funding or something. ;)
If need be you can make him an account and sign him up. But we do have to honor our lists. ;) To a certain extent anyways. ;)
Dr. Deezee
03-17-2004, 05:35 PM
Ur, I'll ask here too...
Are there ever any XBox-only tournaments at the LANs?
Ender

Ender
03-20-2004, 03:18 PM
heh, it's not mine. But Aegon's. Since he never posts and since he's not coming to the LAN but he's still going to let us borrow it...well, I'll be bringing it with me, so it's just saying that I'm supplying a 27 inch tv. :)
M4LFUNCT10N
03-20-2004, 03:27 PM
Does it have component in? Is it HD? Give me the details!!!
Ender
03-20-2004, 03:43 PM
hellif I know! It's pretty nice though...it was used last party. It was in the corner on the opposite side of the room of your big beast tv. ;) Silver, with the speakers on the side. that's about all I know. :D
M4LFUNCT10N
03-20-2004, 03:46 PM
Hmm... well, as soon as you know, let me know. If it does have component in, then I'll need to get a high def adapter,(I have the enhanced adapter right now).
Ender
03-20-2004, 03:52 PM
I can't imagine you'll need anything for this tv. We've been using it at the LANs since November and never needed anything special. Just plug and play. Unless you're thinking of doing some super cool amazing thing with it. :)
tivac
03-20-2004, 03:58 PM
I'm not going to be playing Xbox, but I'll try to bring a couple of controllers and my high-def kit.

My friend decided last minute he'd rather go paintballing. He still might show up later, but I'm not too sure. So don't count on his XBox.
I'm still coming and I'm still bringing mine, AND I'M STAYING TILL SIX IN THE MORNING, BAY-BAY! >_> <_<

Spring Break is winding down, and so is the reliability of my car. So, it is with great remorse that I say I will NOT be there on Saturday... Sorry X-Boxers...
No Stumanji.
No Fatman.
No Blitzkrieg.
No kenjfisher1.
No debree.
No TheSteve.
But, in April, I should have no troubles making it (I may need a ride though... ha ha ha!) Can't promise that Blitzkrieg, Fatman or TheSteve will be there, but debree, kenjfisher1, and I should be attending.... MAYBE.
Have fun.

Hola
I'm sorta new to the area, saw a flyer at Whatcom Community College for the LAN and signed up.
I have an Xbox and 6 controllers I can bring. Along with a 32" T.V. however I can't lift that sucker by myself and I live alone so I'd have to drag one of you to my place to help. (I live on Telegraph Road, its like a 10 second drive).
Oh, and I have a copy of Halo that doesn't crash and isn't scratched...well totally : )

Added you to the list. I can give you a hand with the TV, so that won't be a problem.
