I dont know about overclocking this crappy card... but does this mean that you approve of my patented "noise dampening" tehnique?
***Edit, sorry bout the crappy color, there is a slight reflection off of the plutonium core... but yes, that IS a toothpick.

I highly doubt that as well, considering my 9600 Pro cant do that.

Depends on what processor he has. I hear HL2 is really processor heavy. Even my 9700 Pro doesn't give me sweet lub in CS:S :(

My processor is better, and I still cant hit those frames.

Half-Life 2 is actually a DirectX9 game, although it has different render paths for DX8 and DX7 video cards. Basically the same thing Doom3 did to balance framerates with older hardware.

I never said that I had my resolution settings on high or anything, And I am talking about an AVERAGE Also depends on the server speed as well, or how many players are on the server...but I've seen my fps go as high as about 100 and as low as 35 so the average between those is 67.5 fps ON AVERAGE...
btw I have a 2.4 Ghz p4 (HT) 800 mghz fsb, gig o ddr 3200 samsung ram...etc overclocked to a humble 2.43 ghz...like I said before Source is a directx 8 game which means dun dun dun it probably runs better with a directx 8 card (like mine) admittedly at a crappier resolution...
But what do you like better shiny water and trees? or bloody ownage?

It's a DX9 game, as Dave said beforehand. Your FPS isn't going to change on different servers, however it will change as more players are on your screen at the same time. I guess you spend alot of time staring at a wall in source, lol.

according to all of the sources I've read It has optimized settings for Directx 7, 8 and 9 so there is no reason to believe that you couldn't get as much performance out of whatever card or version you are running. the differences are negligable and directx9 is not necessarily "better" as DX8 was fully implemented for my card and DX9 is still being worked on and updated for yours...fyi fear acoording to the Sandra Testing my Proc is cosiderably better in performance than yours (at a base level at least) so if what DZ says is true I might be recieving a considerable performance hit there as well...
Just so you know I am in the market for a new video card anyway, so I really don't know why you guys are giving me so much grief over this, By nature I'm not a liar, so Why would I make up something this silly?

you guys look at frames way too much for performance. there is alot more then just that. like graphics (duh, dumb peoples).
also, i can see jinx getting those type of frames. on my geforce 4 mx 440 i was getting 50-60 frames. of course, (no $!@#) all of my setting were turned down.
