What happens if more people show up than what is registered?

I have a few friends that were undecided back when there were 6 spots left on the X-Box side... now with all the spots full what will happen if these guys decided they want to play too?

The reason I ask, is because my buddy is driving up from Cheney, WA to go to this thing, and he might bring a couple of his friends with him. He's gonna call me tomorrow (Thursday, 26th)

Our underpaid Bouncer will take care of it for us. BTW if Krispy Kremes are brought you now know why. There aren't many Bouncers that will work strictly for doughnuts. Okay fine so there are, but don't tell him. He thinks he's special;)

We can hope that people who signed up won't show...other than that, we can look at the situation after everything is setup, and if we've got room for them, great...if not, the people who have signed up get priority. =/

Here's what we did for pre-LAN 4-player games:
The person who finishes LAST gives up their controller for the next game. If there are three people waiting, then the bottom three players give up their controllers.

Possible complications:
1. One game lasts five minutes, then the following game last 45 minutes. Those that are waiting have nothing to do but watch.

2. The top 12 players never have to give up their controllers.

3. The same people shuffle in and out of games.

This is more Ender's call than mine, but I think people who are paying to play shouldn't have to spend time sitting around watching other people play.

We'll see how it goes, though...it's entirely possible not everyone who signs up will show up...likely, even.

I think if people don't show up, then first come first serve, I also think that people should be able to share controllers but should not be forced to, so if you and your freinds want to share, fine, but people who payed should get to play whenever they want.

I have to agree about the limited spots. While I'm not a control freak.... I won't be happy if I'm standing their watching other people play on my Xbox. Of course I'm going to need a break on occasion, but I'm paying to play not watch.

There is plenty of room in this building stu...but if you're going to bring more people then bring more xbox's. If these people want to enter the tournies and prize drawings they need to pay just like everyone else.

To be honest, I can't believe we filled up the sign ups for xbox. never happened before! But it's a good thing. :woot: I also know of about 4-6 people who might just show up. Same goes for them, if they want to be in the tournaments then they have to pay. If they want to play on the xbox's and tvs that have been arranged pre-party then they have to pay. If they want pizza they have to pay yadda yadda yadda. Bring more xbox's, bring more tvs. There's room, just not in that main room. There's offices and the like we can string cables to and stuff. But there needs to be enough xboxs and tvs above all.

We have 18 signups because we can with confidence bring 4 tvs and 4 xboxs. That makes for 16 players if there are 4 on a set. The extra 2 signup spots are because not everyone can play xbox all day and all night so there are bound to be lulls that everyone can enjoy.

Wanna bring more people, bring more xbox and more tvs. They can pay just like everyone else, cause this little shindig ain't so little anymore. ;) It's only $10, they get tournament entry, they get pizza dinner, soda, snacks, prize drawings. I really really really need to know as soon as possible just cause I don't want to be running to eb in the middle of the party to get another prize cause we have enough for another tourny...I will do that if we get say 32 to show up at some point. But we'd better have 8 consoles for this to go down. :)

I'm all for it personally. We have the room, we just didn't plan/expect it to get this big this fast. :) Anyways, let me know when you do, I'm sure we can work this out. :)

Everyone I know for sure that is coming is already registered... but, like I said in a different thread, we all expected to just pay at the door...

paying at the door is fine. If we have the room, and the resources, we'll accept walk-ins till, uh...we can't physically anymore.

The signups are for our knowledge, so we know what resources we need to have. Anyone coming that hasn't signed up will have to take the chance that hey, we didn't know you were coming so there might not be enough pizza to go around. That sorta thing...but like I said, lets play this one by ear and get a feel for it...
