Stanello's is kinda cool.
I'm sure the one hotel down by the bay (belwether i think) is sure to have a VERY nice resturant, Nice=Money.

Tell her you need the money to pay for your car insurance so you can continue to drive her around in a stylin' ride. ;) Then tell her you'll need her to pitch in for that insurance as well, and that the only anniversary that really matters is the 1 year, 5 year, 10 year, 25 year, and 50 year. :p
Ok, seriously though, there's a small, never crowded nice italian restaurant up by the 412 above the Meridian Grill and Bar (can't remember the name right now) that's quite nice and good. :rup:

Near fairhaven middle school, I'm a total nub as far as directions, but its along the same road just a few blocks down, its on the corner. I'd go scope it out first, this is coming from a 16 year old kid. But its pretty nice, I like the food there.

Stanello's is at the corner of Old Fairhaven parkway and 12th in Fairhaven. If you take the freeway south and go west on Old Fairhaven Parkway exit you won't miss it once you get into Fairhaven. It's not a super nice joint, but quiet and uncrowded. :rup: I used to work there. :) They have the best nachos around - yeah I know it's Italian, but they have nachos there, and you simply cannot beat them with any other restaurant's nachos here in bham. Oh and for dessert you have to get Eric's Chocolate Mousse. Simply delectable.
Oh, and Olive Garden owns. Don't knock it.:mad::mad:
(pss - soup and salad lunch!)

So far, I'd say the priciest and therefore, best resturant I can think of is the one in the belwhether hotel down by the bay.

150 bucks is a just in case amount, always be prepared man....
Olive Garden is the BOMB. Especially now with the all you can eat pasta bowl....*drool* But the salad and soup combo CANNOT be beat...

Some of the best food I have ever eaten has cost me less than $10. Some of the worst food I have ever eaten (and worst service) has cost me more than $40.

i'm not knocking Olive Garden Down, its just that franchised restraunts /= "fancy"/anivercery worthy. and guys make the mistake way to often that it is. when it isn't.

I'm sure this is too late...
D'Annas
Boundary Bay Brewery
Dirty Dan's(fairhaven, very nice but pricey)
The Cliffhouse(same as above)
The Oyster Bar(out off Chuckanut easily cost $100 for two)
Oyster Creek Inn(I *Think* they are still open. They've been doing remodelling for a couple years, very good. Dinners usually cost $20-40 each person)

There was this place I went to for prom that was really nice. Down by the docks, great view... Probably the best restaurant in bellingham. My plate was 20, her's was 15, desert was like 10... I think I was 60 down (tip incl.) after that dinner was over.

The best food at good prices with romantic atmosphere is Le chat noir (the black cat) on 12th and Harris in Fairhaven (third floor I believe) Believe me I've gotten some every time i've taken a date there. the food is excellent, atmosphere is dark and romantic, excellent wine list and dinner for 2 will be $50.00 or less even with wine...

Hey all, thanks for all the ideas, I ended up taking her to the Keg, thats always good eats, and we even got to sit in our own little area...was very nice, total with tip came to about 70 bucks. I will definetly keep those other places in mind tho!! Some I have never even heard of!
Just for the info::
Dont go to the Bell-crapolie-steal-your-money-peice-o-crap-lying-peice-of-poop restuarant. If u feel the need to spend $$15 for a peice of crap salad be my guest...But i wouldnt suggest it at all!! And dont stay there either...Unless u get the LightHouse Condo thingy....otherwise you'll get jacked...I stayed there with my husband and it sucked HC!! No free breakfast, u get a gift basket...But NO! u have to pay for w/e u eat in it...No kitchen...so gay...But we went to the Horse Shoe and had the best Philly Cheese Steak sandwich ive ever had...MMMMMMMMM HMMM!!! lol
err...should have read Warders...post first....lol

Another good place is the Calumet. It's small and I think a little less known by most people.
Bellweather has some really good Baked Alaska(dessert). But never had dinner there.

The Calumet is very nice.
wth is calumet? is it a fish? Dude ill tell you about our lil not so wonderful stay at the Bellweather. It all started when we looked up the place on the web, and were like "oh wow that looks nice!!, and the price isnt too bad" So we call'em "Ya we want to know how much it is for 2 nights, in the Executive suite??" they replied "It'll be $180" we say "ok Thanks we'll come by on friday"
"ok, bye" click. Then we called again just to make sure the next day ^_^a
They say the same thing except the price is $190. o_O
So were like ok $190 isnt too bad for 2 nights. We askes them several times how much for 2!! nights. So we go to the counter and check in, and ask again how much for 2 nights. $190 again, so were like ok cool!
Soo we say we want a VIEW!! of the bay...we get to our room. -_-
We get their wonderful view of their biestro? Is that right? Well newaz it wasnt a bay view like they said they would give us. SO! that was crap..
Then we were like...Checkin out, and they say "that'll be $380" and were like "....uhm, You guys told us 3 times it was going to be $190" she replied "Its not our policy to tell people 2night stay fees" we replied "Uhm we called 2 times and asked when we got here how much it was" she replied with a roll of her eyes...and that straight out pissed me off more than the price. THEN we had to pay on our CC, so the next day...I call and ask "Hey how much is it for 2nights stay in your executive suite...JUST GUESS WHAT THEY TELL ME!!?!??! omg $380. Are they retarded...or just they want to jack some newly weds? So after that...I wrote a letter to there Manager..still havent gotten a reply. Iam never...ever....ever...ever...ever..ever..ever...EVER'A going there ever again. Never! I suggest if u do stay there, make damn sure u get a good suite like the lighthouse thats worth all the money you'll be spending there.

That sounds horrible. I've never stayed there nor do I plan on it. It would be weird to stay in a hotel in a city that I live in. However if I DID, want to,I'd stay at the Chrysalis. They are in Fairhave. It's an Inn/resort/spa. Anyway, call up your credit card company and tell them to reject the payment. That's what credit cards are for. They protect their users big time.
The Chrysalis (http://www.thechrysalisinn.com/)
Ya it was, but i mean if it wasnt for all that other crap. The room was nice fireplace, jetted tub and a mass comfy bed. I wish it would have been better but eh, what you gonna do.
We were going to cancel the payment but his lawyer said to just write a letter... >< lawyers.....lovely. Ya we were thinking Chrysalis should have went there lol Oh well!!
