There's a lot of variables. Early word was that PAX 05 would have room for 500 BYOC computers, but that was when everyone figured that the 80 spots they had open would fill up....they didn't. It was a pretty lame showing, all in all, and maybe they won't even bother with BYOC at the next PAX. I haven't talked to the PA guys about it yet, so this isn't inside information or anything...but they are aware of the poor turnout in the BYOC area relative to the success of the console side of things, and even the LANWERX area.

If they do go ahead with BYOC, and honestly, I suspect they will, there's a pretty good chance that I'll be taking a more active role in setting it all up, and it's even conceivable that BLE will essentially take over the whole BLE area, although I'm not sure either Ender and I are able to take that responsibility even if they offered it to us (which they haven't).

Either way, assuming they go ahead with it, I'll be doing what I can to attract more people and also see that things run a little smoother...in which case, I'll hope to see many of you there. :rup:

I've already told Dave that if they offered us to run the BYOC area, that I would be happy to do it so that it was run a little smoother than this year (if we hadn't gone this year, it would have been exceptionally lame for those brought their own PCs). However, I would have one request from them, that Dave and I have total power over the BYOC area, as we would at a BLE LAN, 'cause if we didn't, then it would be too hard to make what needed to happen happen.

However, the cool thing about it was, even though the BYOC wasn't as cool as I would have hoped, there was plenty to do when you didn't feel like gaming. :rup:

Im not saying it sucked, i thought pax rocked but if the game of DC we played was the only thing we did it was totally worth it!!

Hell yes. I only drove 5 mins to Meydenbauer Ctr. from my house and I found Saturday boring without a PC of my own and all the LWx comps taken for tourneys, but I fixed that Sunday and had a blast with DC and you guys. Till September!
