Last lan, we had a few people with virii, and while it didn't effect the lan as a whole, those people were left with a fair chunk of time watching an anti-virus program scan through their computer....which is no fun when you're surrounded by people whuppin' ass!

If you can't afford virus software, check out the following link...

http://www.my-etrust.com/microsoft/

It's a free download, and really good at cleaning out virii. I've done my homework, so you don't have to. ;)

It's not got the fancy GUI of Norton or McAfee, and it's not quite as good at cleaning as Norton, but personally I prefer minimalist UI...and it's still better than McAfee, and pretty close to Norton.

Now nobody has any excuse to be staring at an anti-virus screen while everyone else is having fun, mmkay? =D

I use that on my laptop. It works prety good. I deleted norton before I instaled it and that program found a virus that norton had missed. I still use Norton on my main PC though.

Edit:
Some people recomend free AVG (http://www.grisoft.com/us/us_dwnl_free.php). I have not seen it work though.

Grisoft was where I started looking for free anti-virus stuff, but it did miserable on the tests I saw.

I need to make a c.d next time I get an anti-virus program on my computer. I had Norton Anti-Virus Corporate edition once, I think I got it off Kaza. But I uninstalled it because I could never figure out how to keep it from minimizing the screen in the middle of games. Couldn't find any disable button :grumpy: so I said screw it and uninstalled it. I should have burnt it to a c.d so I could reinstall and check for viruses. But next time I will.
