LOL SC:G is so far from uber hyped it isn't even LOL anymore...maybe just lol. ;)

It has nothing to do with it being uber hyped. 2k3 was uber hyped and I loved that game and was really excited for it. What it is, is there's nothing about the game that I've heard that interests me at all.

In my opinion, the popularity of Doom 3 is based 100% off of older gamers Nostalgia for the game that addicted them as teenagers. I haven't heard anything about this game, other than stunning graphics (which are cool but aren't the deciding factor in buying a game for me). The Story was OK, but I'm not terribly excited to know what's going to happen in the next installment - ie it wasn't THAT good.

HL2 is of more interest to me due to the improved physics of Source. But then again I'm losing interest for that fast due to the fact that it was supposed to be out last September. Now those sweet cool physics don't seem that cool because every game coming out is improving their physics - games like Soldner with deformable terrain and stuff. So I'm more excited for HL2 than Doom 3, but not that much. I'm not really that excited for HL2 either. :shrug:

SC:G continues from a story that I'm highly interested in, AND it's a console FPS where you play a very unique character with very original and unique abilities. :shrug:

Nathan, I got to get you to play Doom3 when it comes out, you'll love it. It's extraordinarily creepy, the graphics will blow you away, and the sounds are fantastic. The sound engine in this game surpasses any other before it. A rocket will sound different going through fog then it will through normal air... you'll hear steam hissing, water dripping down walls, and all the little bump-scrapes you'd expect to hear in a hell-infested starship. Believe me, this game will rule!!!

Then again, I doubt there will be multiplayer, so maybe you WON'T like it! ;)

If this game has multiplayer that involves dodge-jumping/combos I will absolutely quit UT.

The graphics are absolutely amazing (even when I played it like a year ago) Also: The sounds are freaking creepy/amazing.

That's just it - none of these things make me want to play it. If it has gameplay to match then maybe I'll give it a shot. But there's no way I'm going to get excited about a game due to those reasons. :shrug:

I've also seen and sampled the leaked version that came out and definitely wasn't impressed.

That leaked version was like uber pre-alpha lol

But I do agree, gameplay > all other factors.
