The grandmother of all games! Simply amazing, and still de best for 10 people LANs as long as there is a movie and some music playing in the background.

Anyone else ever play it?

I suppose its graphics are a tad dated, and it doesn't seem to run in XP...and it likes slightly slower computers then nowadays *cough*386's*cough* but still great great game!

That game ownz!

A lot of people flip over Worms, but those games are like a "Scorched Earth for Dummies". :D

In the latest Deathball mod for 2k3, there's a Warfare mod that's similar to Scorched Earth. There's not a billion different weapons (hot napalm was my favorite >=), but you take turns throwing the ball in the air trying to destroy the other players. I wouldn't mind giving that a try, but I think it might have somewhat limited appeal.

yeah after Quake3 most peoples attention spans went south pretty quick. Takes a little attention to properly fling your deaths head :p

If I were on a desert island all I'd need is a power outlet a 486 so I could play scorched earth, and keep a log of little haikus I would make so one day they could be published and I would be a famous writer.

none that came after the original lived up to the original. Its the sign of a truely perfect game when you can't improve it. They add more weapons or 3d graphics but none come close to the first.

I still need to get around to sending $15 to him so I can have a registered version. Wonder if the address is still good :p

...with no wind. ;)

If you get it, I'll play ya. =)

BTW, so far as I can tell, Scorch2000 is an exact replica except online based.

its very different feeling from the original. Perhaps its just technology that has changed and that is why it never feels right. You have to have a pc in the sweet spot. 386's are best, but a 486 33mhz will work. When you hit the DX2 66mhz your getting big overkill and it goes way to fast.

Yeah maybe I can get an old laptop and hook a monitor to it so we can play!
