yep, my grandpa's compaq is self destructing because it hates its life so much. Ok, the cdrom starting being flaky right after warrenty expires, then the nic port goes out, windows starts being hella slow and then it decideds one day it doesn't have the drivers for the wireless card that I bought for my grandpa. So now its a $1000 something solitaire game for him :mad:

I'm going to try to get a new cd-rom but you have to rip the whole laptop apart to install it I think! it would almost be easier to just buy them a new one.

lol, my compaq did the same freaking thing, until i screwed with it and got WinXP. But the cd-r/rw drive is totally fubared >__<. as is the Floppy, which i removed, along with the empty 3.5 bay, and now theres a nice hole where i can see my pretty blue LED fan through. then i put more ram in here, last thing that ill do is upgrade graphics card, mabye put a 40gig Hd in it eventually...
