Shannon's parents are coming up to visit(they live in Phoenix AZ), and her brother and his wife just moved up to Vancouver. So... it looks like I'm going to be spending some quality time with her family. So I'm not going to be making it to June lan. As far as the other somethings..... They will remain rumors right now. :x

I'm not whipped in any way. I just have different priorities. I'm at the age that I'm looking forward to getting married soon. I'm not sure if she is the one yet, but I'm REALLY enjoying spending time with her, can't get her off my mind, and would rather be hanging out with her than anyone else. My life doesn't revolve around gaming. In fact... I haven't been playing much games at all lately. I played Halo for MAYBE 15 minutes last lan. The only time I even touch my Xbox is at the lans. Right now it's in a clear tub holding up a computer. The future hasn't been set yet. I will say that I'm not leaving the lans for good/completely. I just have lots of other things going on right now.

Well, we have yet to see if there will be any proposal. I'm just trying to say that I'm at the age where I'd like to settle down and get married. I'd love to be done with dating and get on with the real life. ;) I've only known Shannon for 2 months, and been dating her for the past month. The good thing is neither of us are getting tired of each other, and we've been hanging out almost every day. Today was the first day we haven't hung out in about a week. But we're going out tomorrow night, then I'm taking her to lunch Friday. Saturday she'll be busy... sniff sniff... but Sunday I'll see her again. :D I feel all giddy and stuff.

M4L I have to say something about your desire to 'settle down' as you call it. I do this as a friend who 'settled down' 3 years ago and can still somewhat remember life before the 2 kids and settling down stuff. Also coming from a somewhat similar background I think it may qualify this advice a little.

Just let life happen. Things will fall into place on their own in their own time. Usually doing anything to speed life up or even anticipating things to come will serve to damage them slightly for the future. I'm not saying to fight the urge to want to settle down, but to try and keep it out of your mind and just focus on the now. Of course you should always have your future in mind (like wise financial spending and such things) but try and just let life happen and roll with the punches.

I'm not telling you to do this, nor saying I've been there done that so listen to me or else. But just as a friend trying to give you an edge I didn't have. :)

Oh I totally agree. I don't plan on rushing anything. Heck I've been single prior to Shannon for almost 3 years. That should show how much I've been speeding things up ;) . I'm definately letting things just "happen". But I also see no point in dating someone for years. Either I'm going to marry them or not. And if not then I need to end the relationship and move on. If I don't look to the future then I'm doing whoever I'm dating a major disservice. I don't date girls that want to date for fun. Those kind of girls aren't my type. I date girls that are thinking about a future too.
