1.) I understand it's possible to link 4 gamecubes together. Perhaps I'm the only one, but the idea of an 8+ game of Double Dash gives me impure thoughts. :levitate:
Would anyone else be interested? Also speak up if you've got a GC and you'd be willing to bring it in.
2.) Beings as BLE has a Gamecube, our next step is probably to get an X-Box. I've done some research, and it appears that we can get the latest and greatest mod chip for around $60 including shipping.
I've got all the equipment necessary to do our own MOD, but I thought I'd give the shout out. Others have expressed an interest. I'd be soldering it in myself, and I would be willing to do the same for other BLE patrons...especially those so kind as to let us use their xboxes and tv's for our events. ;)
This probably won't happen for another month or two.
[edit: BTW, generally when an x-box is modded, it's also equipped with a larger hard drive to store games on...it's just a standard hard drive no different from what's in your computer right now]

BTW, I heard of some program that allows you to play gamecube games over the internet by making the GC think its on a LAN. should look into that...

I heard that you can have 16 players on Double Dash, two players for each cart... that would be rather interesting.

What awesome games? Did I miss something? I traded in my GC almost a year ago now. I played Xbox for 3 days straight(bachelor party), and decided to ditch the cube for the box.

It's called Warp Pipe. http://www.warppipe.com/
No idea how well it works. Xbox has the same thing, Xbox Connect. You might ask why you need a LAN emulation when you have Xbox Live..... HALO. You can play games that are LAN enabled but no Live enabled on XBConnect. Nothing better than playing Halo Online!

what good games are there for the gamecube? what kind of question is this dude?
gamecube: 99$
games:
viewtiful joe
super mario
metriod
zelda
mario kart DD
fzero
Rogue Squadron III
xbox: 199$
games:
halo
ps2: 199$
games:
GTAIII
GTAVC
now with all that said, there are some cult favorites (for the different platforms) and good games in different genres that people will like if they're into that perticular genre, but i dont think i'll ever play crimson skys for the xbox.
unless its at the next lan party ;)
and dude, if you did ditch your gamecube a year ago, i can totally see that, most of these games weren't out yet )i dont think(

I was trying to make a joke. It just seems that Nintendo is losing it's edge. They are putting out less and less quality games. Less quantity too. I think Mario Kart, Zelda, and Metroid are the only titles that put up a fight with other systems. I just got tired and tired of waiting for good games. I waited a year, and nothing really came out! I felt like I was slapped in the face. I expect the company to put some effort into it.
BTW GTA3 and Vice City are on Xbox too. :D
I wasn't trying to start a flame war. Just curious as to what games he thought were so great. There are plenty more awesome games on Xbox:
Project Gotham Racing 2
Amped 2
to name a couple
And more that are coming out too. I can't wait for Halo 2 and Fable. Both will be absolutely killer. Sudeki looks to be interesting too.

by the time halo 2 comes out, i'll be wasting all my free time playing half life 2 and doom 3. but it will give the xbox a second respected title, haven't heard anything about fable though

Fable is one of the most anticipated Xbox games of 2004. It is a very deep RPG. You start out as a kid, and depending on how you play the game, your character will become a different person. You choose whether you will be good or bad, or anything in between. You characters looks will reflect how you play the game. Play the game as a night thief and you will be really pale. Do lots of battles and become a big burly person. Rely on skill and you'll be thin and agile. etc.

Most of those pics are of the main character, but different walks of life.

We'll only get one for BLE. If others would like to get their own mod chip to save money on shipping, that'd be fine with me. I'm not buying anyone else's mod chips, though. ;)
I have a gamecube you can use.
