So with only a week left I announce MAY's LAN party! :woot:
This LAN is looking to be a hoot with a few additions, but more importantly, the fact that we're almost full already! Better sign up (http://www.bellinghamlan.com/lan_events.php?s=) now to save your spot! We already have 33/40 PC spots taken and 11/20 XBOX spots taken!!
Where: Pacific Meridian Plaza
When: Saturday, May 29th
How long: 10:00 am - 2:00 am Sunday
How much: PC - $15 for prepay, $20 at the door || Xbox - $10 for prepay (reserves your spot), $10 at the door.
Go and check out our Events (http://www.bellinghamlan.com/lan_events.php?s=) page for more information and to Sign up! (http://www.bellinghamlan.com/lan_events.php?s=)
Game's of the Hour
Ok, so it's really 2 games for 2 hours, but here's how it works. Before the LAN I will have predetermined trackable stats that we will give prizes for. So if you're playing Unreal Tournament 2004 with us during the time when it is a Game of the Hour and I happened to pick something like Most Deaths as a stat deserving a prize for that game, and you get most deaths on the map we do it on - YOU WIN A PRIZE!!!! Yup, it's that random. In fact, it's more random than a random giveaway where we draw names out of a hat!
In short, all you have to do, is play the games designated as the game of the hour, and during that time, we'll be handing out prizes for random things if you're playing that game! It's that simple! So play the Game of the Hour and increase your chances of winning something!
Here is the list and the schedule for the Games* of the Hour**, as well the tournament schedule:
10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Games of the hour: Warcraft III, and Battlefield 1942: Desert Combat
12:00 pm - A brief moment of silence for the random giveaways
12:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Games of the hour: Battlefield: Vietnam, and Call of Duty
2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Games of the hour: Counter Strike, and Rainbow Six 3: Ravenshield
4:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Games of the hour: Quake 3, and Unreal Tournament 2004
6:00 pm - 7:00 pm
DinnAR!
7:00 pm - 11:00 pm
PC Tournaments (the if/when/what of XBOX tournaments to be decided at the party): Serious Sam TSE Co-op + RC Car Race, RvS Pistols only + BBgun challenge, BLE's Triathalon
11:00 pm - 12:00 am
Game of the hour (for the last prize left): Worms Armeggedon!! :woot:
12:00 am - 2:00 am
Anything goes, but likely to see some UT2k4 (hopefully some Deathball!) like last LAN. :rup:
*There will be multiple games for each game of the hour due to the large variety of game types that you all seem to like/
**Yes, I am fully aware that I call it Game of the HOUR but each space of time lasts TWO hours. This is because one hour is far too short a time to play any of these games enough.
Remember, this is totally random stuff - so don't even ask to know what we'll be giving away prizes for because it would ruin the fun! Just play and have a good time with everyone playing the same game! :woot:
BLE's MAY Event is lining up to be a hoot, so come one and all and w00000000t!

Games such as q3 and Serious Sam you can get at the LAN for LAN play - others not so. But if you were to have a little cash then you could pick some to get. For example, Battlefield 1942 (of which Desert Combat is a mod) isn't very expensive these days, same with Warcraft III. Ravenshield also is not too expensive these days as well. UT2k4 and Battlefield Vietnam are probably the most expensive of the bunch, but less than $40 each if you look in the right places. Basically, if you have some cash, just pick which ones look to interest you the most and get them. :rup:

Hmmm... I do plan to stay to 2 a.m. . The only thing I'm worried about is a ride... Would anybody volunteer to give me a ride back to my home? I live near Shuksan Middle School.

I think this site needs an oficial rules page. So everybody is straight on the rules and the rules are not posted here and there in various posts.

Everyone assumably has a ride.
If you have a car or some other mode of transportation, it's all good, but I worry about lan carpools at 3:00am.
Exceptions can be made on an individual basis, but we really think it's a good idea to get those "parentally guarded" home at a reasonable hour.
We'll try to figure out a more solid policy, but hopefully you understand our motivation.

If you're getting a ride from your parents or friends or something, we're asking that you do so at midnight.
If your parents want to pick you up later, then they can give me a call, but I don't want to encourage those 3:00am "come get me right now" calls because if I were a parent, I wouldn't much like them.

plus it improves your chances of going again, if parents dont like the pick up time, they may not do it again.
