I believe there's a size limit for the Avs so when you're making yourself one, keep that in mind. ;) I'm not sure what it is, but I'm sure Dave does.

Anyone a photoshop or similar type of computer art pro? I have had a sig idea in mind for a long time that I've always wanted to do...but I'm not leet enough to make it happen by myself. Anyone care to take it on?

The forum default was 50x50 pixels for the maximum size of the avatar. I've changed it to 75x75. =)

It'll ask you if you'd like to upload your own in the prompt under options in User CP.

I've gone ahead and changed it to a requirement of 10 posts.

I just mentioned that I had changed the required posts to 10 for getting an avatar, and increased the pixel limit from 50x50 to 75x75. Now hurry up and size up your avatar so I can up it to 76x76.

you should make the avatar size 100x100, otherwise some cool avatar don't look so cool :(

Okay, okay...I've temporarily changed it to 100. If it doesn't screw things up, I'll leave it be. In other words, I wouldn't put a whole lot of work creating your 100,000 pixel masterpeice quite yet.

Well...hrm...they do look pretty big. Maybe I'm just not used to it? Whaddya guys think...like 100 more than 75?

they look fine, a bit big, but most of us are higher speed internet users, plus with an avarge of 11k avatars your looking at about 1.5 secs even if you are a 56k user.

Hey...that's 1.5 secs PER USER! ;)

It's not so much the file size as the physical space it takes.

hey, but you only have to download the image once, so its not that bad as long as people don't change their avatars all the time; for people with slow connections
