View Full Version : BLE Night out on the Town?
DiscoDave

Zach had a pretty interesting idea...what would ya'll think of getting the BLE crew together some night for bowling, or something non-gaming related? (Not that we couldn't find a few coin-op games, if we so desired. ;))
Nothing serious, and not really directly related to BLE itself, but a chance to hang out with fellow geekX0rz?

and while were there we can so off our calculator/watches/calander/word processor/GPS and measure who has the thickest glasses...
Ahh what the heck, sure why not publicly humilate myself further. :p j/k yeah that sounds like it would be fun! Theres that bowling alley in downtown Bham and the pizza joint that sponsers us is right near I believe too.

I would also be interested in any private LANS between the official BLE lans. So much more fun to be able to talk to the people that are killing you.;)

Cool, sounds like fun, mind if my girlfriend comes along?
DiscoDave
02-02-2004, 07:23 PM
I was actually going back and forth about that very issue today. I was thinking we could offer an open invite to all girlfriends and wives so they can get a feel for why their hubby/boyfriend runs away every month.
Maybe a sort of female support group could form, so they could get together and do...um...girl stuff....while we lan. I remember the wives of the founders of LPNW had a system similar, to the point where they actually looked forward to the LANs as much as the guys did. Almost. ;)
I haven't talked to Ender about this yet, but what do you guys think? Would you like it to be a Guys Night Out, or do you think your significant others might enjoy it as well?

02-05-2004, 08:25 PM
Hmm. Last time I went paintballing..... I spent $100. And I took my own equipment! It gets expensive when your whole team chickens out and you are the only one shooting. Go through a case of paint like cheetos at fat camp.
BTW.... I'm new here. :D

Costa Rica is a Central American success story: since the late 19th century, only two brief periods of violence have marred its democratic development. Although still a largely agricultural country, it has expanded its economy to include strong technology and tourism sectors. The standard of living is relatively high. Land ownership is widespread.

total: 51,100 sq km
water: 440 sq km
note: includes Isla del Coco
land: 50,660 sq km
coastline: 1,290 km
Terrain: coastal plains separated by rugged mountains including over 100 volcanic cones, of which several are major volcanoes

Other then the low internet use sounds like a great place to vacation or even have a summer house. :)

Okay, guys, we're set for 4:00pm at 20th Century Bowling Inc.

I've never been to either of them either, but I have heard that the one on State street isn't the nicer of the two...though they both don't look that great from the outside anyways. Unless anyone has some real experience at both and strong opinions about it, I say we just go with this one and find out what it's all about.

DiscoDave's Law on Probability: Given two choices and a random choosing mechanism, you have a 50% chance of choosing either one - unless one choice is significantly better than the other, in which case the chances go from 50/50 to 10/90 for the better/worse scenerio.
