Paintball News

BLE's June Paintball Gathering has been confirmed for Saturday the 12th. We'll be playing at Semper Fi, starting at noon. A map can be found here (http://semperfipaintball.com/map.htm).

The cost for this event will be $35 per person. BLE was hoping to help out with this cost, but as we'll be purchasing food for this Saturday's gathering, we probably won't be able to do much to help you out with the cost. Still, the $35 includes equipment, field entry, and lunch. Additionally, we'll have our own field to use. Those of you with your own equipment will probably know better than I will how much it will cost for yourselves.

If you've never played paintball before, join the club. I haven't, nor has Ender, and we're going to make sure those that play frequently take it easy on us poor n00bs. ;)

You really aren't going to want to miss this...it's going to be a lot of fun, and we hope to see you all there!

If you're planning on attending, feel free to post so we have an idea of who all to expect. =D

You can also buy paint in cases of 1000. Most people dont go through 1000 in one day (playing all day I went through 800 only)

I would suggest getting a semi-auto, if you can, get an Tippman A-5, or Tippman 98 Custom, even a Pirannah.

As far as covies go, if you have camo gear, bring it, if not, get camo covies, you'll need the camo :sharpshooter:

Oh... and if we want a bunch of experienced players... I know a few guys who would prolly come and show the n00bs the ropes and all, 'ell, one of them even has extra gear (ammo belts, a few camo jackets, ammo tubes, masks, squeegiies etc..)

If you havent paintballed before, and dont like pain, wear a second layer of clothing under the camo covies (assuming you rent camoflauge coveralls)

My motivation for these BLE gatherings is to promote community and get to know each other a little more between LANs. It makes the events themselves quite a bit more enjoyable when you have a fair idea of who you're playing with.

I understand you want to play with your outside friends, but you can do that anytime.

Haven't played in awhile but most paintball fields charge you up the ass for paintballs. Just buy beforehand and split 1000 with someone.

You don't have to spend that much... They have 3rd grade for $10 a bag (500 per bag) on the field. Co2 refills are $5.

in my humble opinion the smaller the teams, the more excitement. If you have 30 people it gets to be a little...reckless?

4 on 4 or 5 on 5 is perfect.

They'l probly have games like CTF or 'ring the bell' or something. Plus there should be a speedzone for some fast firing, cover your squadmate action!

My step-brother in Sudden Valley has two paintball guns, both Compact Spyder's...I'l see if I can 'acquire' them for this event although sadly I will not be going...for I will be on vacation in Southern California.

Umm...if everyone else is using a semi-automatic...you DEFINITELY DO NOT WANT TO BE USING A PUMP!!!!!!!!

Unless if you like use a small one for backup I see no use for a pump LOL

ALSO, if the field is huge and you have to walk a long ways back to where they sell paint..I suggest for a couple people on each team to 'stock up' on paint so you can refill everyone between games.

Also you guys should draw up battle plans and communicate with eachother. A non-communicating team is a dead team :P

I'm not saying that the gun makes the player... Just saying that tippmans aren't all that great. Just like cars. A race is won by skills, not by the car. But having a fast car definately helps.

Nah i no i'm just sayin that for an entry level gun there not to bad...the only spyder i'd ever used choped every other ball so it didn't really leave a good impresion on me

Tippman's are pretty damn reliable....you can trash it and it will still fire...its not that accurate at long range (most paintball guns arent tho)

They aren't the best, but they aren't the worst ;)

I've had similar experiences with tippmans. Not only that, but when I used to play, everyone with tippmans would have problems, and their accuracy wasn't great. Same problems when the 98's first came out. Maybe they've improved since then.

My friends all played with Spyders, so that's what I got into. My friend had a compact with a lp setup, and lots and lots of mods. Lightened trigger pull, 18 in teardrop barrel, etc.

So I started out with the Hammer version A. Ended up getting a silencer for it, and maybe my gun was different than the typical pump, but I had incredibly accuracy. I had several offers from people with semis that wanted my gun as a sniper rifle to sling on their back. Then I ended up getting a Spyder SE. I swapped out the barrel for a nice Dye aluminum 16 in, popped out the safety so I didn't have to worry about accidentally engaging it during a game, I added a scope and a laser, coiled remote and a 20 oz tank. And I had an X-Fire Thermal mask, a 4+1 harness, and 4 200 rd loaders.

Then last year I sold it all for $350. I think I made out like a bandit!

Just to clarify for you guys wanting to bring people. We're trying to build up the gaming community here, and so this event is to get us gamers together and associate and have a good time not playing computer games. If you bring someone from outside, you're likely to hang out with them and not the BLEers. But if someone really wants to come, bring them to the LAN in a week and that'd be cool. :rup:

This will be much fun, teams of 4 on 4 or 5 on 5 are funnest, i prefer 4v4 so you can do partners, great for tactical shit (distracting, lureing, cover fire, etc...)

Im gonna have to get another tank before this... and if you go through more then 2 20oz tanks in a day, you are trigger happy, keep missing, or just plain good at assualtness.

And furthermore, one case of 1000 should do a person all day, literally, ALL DAY, conservative players can go through 500 or less usually, i went though 800 last time i went, and that was playin all day, from noon to 10pm :bulb:

to DD: Im not that much of a sharpshooter, just farking sneaky, change my little caption to "sharpshooter/sneaky fox" on the signups :P

haha... no way! Noobs shoot LESS! For one, they chicken out and won't leave cover. Two, they get shot early in the game and spend most their time waiting for the next game. Every noob I've played with got out early, or was hiding behind cover the whole game. I end up going through a full case of paint because half the time I'm laying cover fire trying to get my team to move! That's why I stopped playing. I was spending $100 each day. IMO, that's way too much.

don't bother getting another co2 tank just save up $90 and get commpressed air its alot cheaper to fill, theres no drop in velocity when the tank is low, no smoke(or whatever you wanna call it) when you shoot. Also don't make the same mistake I did and upgrade your 98c to much cuase no matter how much you upgrade it its still not a high end marker...it might better for you to save your money and just buy an high end gun like a BKO or stock autococker both of which are about $250.

Im buying a Tippmann A-5 eventually. And again, my dad owes me money, and the guy who i get C02 from for $2 per fill always has C02, its plenty reliable.

PS: Its not smoke, its steam.

I know my 98c will never be a 'high end' marker, and i really dont care. Once i get an A-5, im selling my 98c off, its worth $450 with the upgrades and such, im going to sell my 16oz tank with it, withc is another reason for getting a 20oz tank...

Hey, just in case you didn't notice, this is BLE members only event, for those who have been to at least one LAN. Ok, so I'm a little out of the loop on agitators... but if an agitator is linked to the gun, so it ONLY spins when the gun is firing, then I don't think it would be too bad. Shaking your hopper makes more noise than an agitator.

Full auto is allowed the only time its not allowed is in tournaments and i'm gonna have to disagree with you guys about full auto being better/faster than semi auto...almost all high end markers can shoot faster semi auto than your full auto guns take the angel speed or e-class oracle they have a semi auto speed of 36bps(balls per second)don't no how you could move your fingers that fast but still I'd like to see your full auto do that. Electronic hoppers arn't loud i have one and i bet my marker will be one of the quitest out there even when the feeder is going.

I went out shopping today. I was going to look for parts to upgrade my 8 year old Spyder paintball gun. Big 5 Sports had their Spyder Imagine Selects on sale for $175. I couldn't see dumping a bunch of money in my old gun if a new one was so cheep. Now i just need an auto feed hopper and a longer barrel.

Well, Ive just joined a group that gets together every two weeks, on Sunday, 12:00 to 9:00pm ot 10:00pm, its insane fun, paintball all day, w00t!

Last time I went on the most remote trail, snuck into the enemy base (crawling through mud) got the flag (we were playing CTF), crawled back trhough the mud, and snuck again around half of the trail, until my team leader told me there was an enemy closing on my position, so i ran as fast as i could while the enemie's shots were whizzing by, and i dove into my base and planted the flag, it was the last game of the day, tiebreaker round. It was uber w00t, never ran that fast in my life!

Ok, to play at the field you have to have a parent or guardian sign a waiver. If anybody is planning on carpooling you can download the waiver and print it out and bring it with you... see attachment.... ok i cant attach it here, DiscoDave can you help me??

you don't have to have a parent sign the waver you have to put a parent/guardians name in case they have to contact them but u don't need a signature....If anyone is in desprate need of paintballs while were there let me no and i'll help ya out.
