BF V is cool, but BLE doesn't like to focus on one game - the LANs are likely to be a lot smaller and less cool should we do that. ;) BF V gets 2 hours of being the 'game of the hour' in which people who play it during that 2 hours will be able to win prizes, just for playing it!
And I'm sure PoE will get more people to buy it, but that won't increase it's focus - specially since EA doesn't want PoE to succeed. :(

ok. sounds like a plan. im on msn a lot so i shouldent be too terribly hard to track down. :)
I will take you on for sure:D I love flying choppers, but am not the best.
I realize that BF:V is not the only game you all would play at a lan, but it should be!;) lol
I am into Battlefield because I have been playing it for over a year now. I also lead a section of my clan (www.clanbbf.com (http://www.clanbbf.com)) in that game, so I am kinda stuck there for now.
I also am into making maps and have just released my first completed (a couple things left to fix:rolleyes:) map. It is a fun one for choppers, but the NVA only has one compared to the 4 US choppers.
We have the map up on our server some:67.15.18.193
Check it out: http://bbf-files.uni.cc/files/Valley_Raid.rfa
Make sure you put it in the right folder.

I play it at the LANs. But I still prefer DC. I havent found a decent defense against the US helos. VC weapons are seriously lacking in my opinion.

the vc heat seakering missles are great at that. The F4's and cobras also have great heatseeking missles. The thing to do when palying the vc is realize they are not like the americans. You can't go rambo, you have to sneak around. Snipe spawns till they are safe to take. Stay in grass. Its tought but once you figure it out very fun!

I found it. But how many times do I have to hit a Helo with a rocket before the damn thing blows up?

Too many. The best attack against a US chopper is a VC chopper. Less maneuverable, but if you can hit em, that thing packs quite a friggin punch. Also, like Itsmeee said those planes of theirs have incredible heat seeker missiles, I get killed by those quite a bit.

Isn't the next lan consoles only?

The 22nd isn't a LAN...it's a MID-LAN gathering event. It's focused around a bbq and late night CTF with glowsticks, among other things such as smores roasting, football, soccer, frisbee - you name it really. There will be consoles there but only as a means of something to do in case it rains, or for DiscoDave to get beat down in soul calibur 2. :) It's on may 22 and it doesn't cost a thing for anyone to attend...it's just a way for us to hang out together and get to know one another.
BLE is trying to build a local gaming community, so between LANs we like to have little get togethers and activities. Our first one we went bowling, for the second one we did GoKarts down in Mt.Vernon, and this one is a bbq and after that we got paintball lined up. We'll prolly have a bbq at frequent intervals cause they're so cheap and easy to put on. :rup:
The actual next LAN is the 29th of May - the week after the bbq. Which will give us a night (the bbq) to trash talk about games and then a week to let the tension to build up and then the LAN to show the mad skillz. :p The LAN's themselves have both PC and console gaming goodness. :) So sign up and check it out! Come to the bbq first (and bring whoever!) and meet us all in person so there's familiar faces at the LAN. :D
