BLE Mid LAN Gathering for MAY!

You are all aware that we're having a Mid LAN gathering in June which we'll be playing paintball together, but we just couldn't wait that long to get together and hang out with everyone again. So it is with pleasure that I announce BLE's first Mid LAN BBQ! :woot:

Date: May 22

There will likely be many of these - cause they're free for all of you and not terribly difficult to put on. Y'know, just get together and hang out with a bbq. :D Our first one should be a blast!

We will be staging this event at M4LFUNT10N's house which is in the North Shore area of Lake Whatcom.

We will try and get 5 TV's with a combination of xbox's and gamecubes and a bunch of games for a little console fun - no PC's guys, this isn't a LAN but a get together and console's have always had a place in that. ;) We'll also bring some frisbees, a football or two, anything that could have a good time. This would be an ideal event to bring anyone to that may have apprehensions about coming to the LAN with people they don't know - give them a chance to get to everyone. Also, I'm bringing my family, so that means anyone else is welcome to bring their gf's or what have you, but that also means we need to keep it PG rated if you know what I mean. *cough* FeaR *cough* ;)

DIRECTIONS!

From I-5 to make it easy. If you know your way around B'ham this won't be hard. I-5 from the Iowa exit, take Iowa past all the Stealerships. Take a left on Woburn, and then take a Right on Alabama Hill. Go up the hill, and when you come to the T stop, take a left. This will be North Shore Rd. Continue on North Shore and you'll take a few bends, and you'll come to another T stop(Britton). Go straight and continue on North Shore. It's a few miles out(I'll find out the exact distance). There will be a private road on the left, Edgewood Lane. You'll see a few houses that are under construction. Go up the street and find a parking spot. My house is the only one that is finished. We've got 5 acres for playing around on, and a nice big BBQ on the back deck. OH, and we'll have Smores!! We just built a nice fire pit in the back a few weeks ago.

Here's the address for you guys. My street address is North Shore because our property runs along North Shore, but our house is accessable via Edgewood Lane.

Right. Well, we don't have to play Halo at the Mid-LAN Gathering... Since it's played extensively at the LAN. Get something that isn't really exposed at the LAN's for the mid-Lan.

MK: DD would be a good one. It's a fun game, and it can hold a lot of players.

Since I don't have my GameCube anymore, I can't really help as far as bringing a system, controllers, games, etc... so we'd have to organize it someway.

yes this is something else that needs mentioning. This is at M4LFUNT10N's house and out of his and his parents good will. Also do to the family type outing it may be for some of us, it must needs be an alcohol free event and smoking free as well if you can help it. If you must smoke please do so as far away from the group as possible and please don't leave cigerette butts all over the place either.

I care a great deal, as does my wife, and my kids. :) It's not so much for this person or that, but the fact that this isn't that kind of event, so don't do it. :) It's out of respect for m4lfunt10ns house and his parents for letting us do it. :)

Exactly. I'm not against drinking at all. But I don't want anyone at my house drinking. Because you guys are crazy enough as it is. I don't need anyone screwing stuff up cause their drunk! Not to mention most of you are underage and that is cause for some serious lawsuit/arrestage if the police were called.

We want a fun safe environment. So no drugs, no alcohol, no weapons. Got it?? GOOD! Now with that said we're going to have a BLAST!!! Expect good food, and if you have some dark clothes or camo... you might want to bring it. There is a very good possibility of a night game or two! CTF with glowsticks is a very strong possibility.

Yes... and Stinging Nettles too!!!! w00t! I'll try and plow through some more nettles before the BBQ. But most of the area should be pretty clear. As long as you wear pants and a long sleeve shirt during the game(which if you are wearing camo, you will be), then you'll be fine.

I dont think M4Ls house is going to be THAT hard to find. Between mapquest, an adress, the cars parked out front, the ballons hanging, and directions to his house, it shouldent be TOO hard to locate.

xbox eh? well i play it about every day just halo ctf and deathmatch. so i should do pretty good in fact we have halo tourneys with 16 people every saturday about. usually its 12vs4 and im one of the 4 so far we are 2-2 in that category (im the worst of the 4 but still =p). also if u need a gamecube i got one with just about every game that i could bring adn 4 controllers so let me or chuwawah know. i could bring a tv if we really need one but id rather not bring it if we dotn need it =).

i will talk to my peoples about those halo tourneys we are running out of places to go we always get kicked out of the houses we play at =p. we are really competitive and diss everyone. no matter the score =D. its funny to see when its 12vs4 and they barely win to hear them cheer cause they overcame us. maybe with some more good players unlike the crappy ones we usually play we can have a war of atrition =p that would last a long time.
