imo...competing in ons will be like unto getting thrown into a tank of starving sharks. :) That mod will require an extremely high level of team cohesiveness and extremely good communication, not to mention the strategies that we'll need to develop. And lastly, I'm not terribly into the mod so my involvement, should we pick it, will be minimal. I'm saying that as a threat or anything, but just what I feel and think as a regular member of no significance in this clan like everyone else. :) And since I'm not that into it I won't have any advice to offer for it either - which may be expected of me since I'm one of the resident 2k4 junkies. Just fyi. :)

The other mods will require a lot of skill and team cohesiveness as well, but ons moreso than all the rest in imo. Being one who runs this LAN and captains another clan in 2k4 my involvement overall is going to be minimal, but I will have the most to offer in terms of advice and help in either tdm or ctf, as well as skill.

hmm. now that i think of it ender is right, ons takes a lot of team planning if it is made into a clan thing. i just like playing it disorganized on a random server. Overall I think TDM is my choice and want to change my vote but oh well.

I dunno, maybe I am oldschool, but I still like TDM the best. CTF is good, as are the others, but when I play UT I simply want to frag. :D

I prefer CTF, but I likely won't be playing in any of the matches for quite a while, so I guess this post doesn't have any point.

then again,

dunno, in CAL it isn't allowed; but this is OGL. and in CAL i think a clan can be on multiple ladders of the same game, but people can't be.

too many damn rules to read

This is what I found....

This isn't quite the same thing... but logically this would mean clans can enter more than one ladder.

Multi-Clanners

Players may participate in as many clans as they desire, however, they may register for one, and only one, clan per ladder.

The new ladder software in use by the OGL is designed to catch multi-clanners and NOT permit teams to join the ladder if that player is already on a team ALREADY on the ladder.

If the OGL determines that a player has violated this rule:

That Player will be suspended from all OGL play for a period of two weeks upon the first occurrence.

A second offence will result in summary expulsion from the OGL, and the forfeit of all membership privileges.

well then...

i guess we could do 2 if everone is willing to put in the time.

IMO, we should only do 1 to start out

I vote Team Deathmatch and Onslaught.

TDM is my favorite, but I totally disagree with Ender that ONS would be a less forgiving environment. Meh. I work 4 nights a week so I won't be the most reliable candidate for going to matches anyways. :|

tdm is cool because it doesent take TOO much strategy. its just a test of skill. so repetative practices wont be nessecisary.

we can be on as many ladders as we want...but until we get solidified in this deal only one would be advisable so we don't spread out too thin early. It wouldn't be wise to run and jump on three ladders while trying to figure out how to play as a team in each of those mods...

I say the logical progression would be from TDM into CTF into ONS. TDM teaches you the basics of running and gunning, as well as some basic team skills. CTF takes the team skills to the next level, while still relying heavily on running and gunning skillz. And ONS relies very heavily on a strong team, and less so on good running and gunning skillz (because of vehicles). However, the better you are at killage, the better the team will be overall.

Then again, I only started playing UT (any UT) a couple weeks ago. >_>

lol yes i agree. I have had much experience in OGL in past clans and getting into a ladder that your clan is not prepared for is a bad bad thing.
